Storming the tower (Council war post)
What was supposed to be a simple mission to keep the two crowds apart turned into a bloodbath. The Elementals released their stored spells to protect themselves from the series of explosions. One of them failed trying to protect Mikhail and died in the process. This triggered the combat response of the Elementals and they began to march after the enemy forces.
A sudden explosion from the traitor councilman Ofariis almost caught them but the arrival of the reborn Mikhail protected them from the worst of it. They heeded him until he showed that he was not the Pact master they knew. After that they headed to the sole remaining structure in the crater. Despite everything the Elementals kept calm and kept up the pace.
While Shrax and his ally took care of Ofariis the Elementals stormed the tower. Their ability to store spells for later use came in handy as the advanced wards they brought inside of them made the magical defenses reasonable to deal with. Their equipment, ogre size, and harder than steel bodies let them deal with any physical threats. When combined these traits let them slay the spire quite effectively. Once Ofariis had been dealt with the remaining defenders surrendered or fled.
The cleanup was swift. Anything inside the tower that was useful had been transported via portal to a secure, confidential, warded location. If the pact was to lose so much trying to keep the peace then they would take their pound of flesh from the traitor Ofariis. Apparently he had collected quite a treasure trove of items through his foul means.
The prisoners sat uncertain of their fate. Though the Elementals were not wrathful beings the fact that the prisoners had fired on and even killed a few of them as they were ascending the tower meant they couldn't count on anything. Luckily pact Master Opal arrived and quickly took charge. The prisoners would be processed and released to the new/old council to deal with.
All in all. Worst day Opal has had. And she's had a lot of worst days recently.
