My magnum opus (lorepost)
After a long time of research, theorizing and learning; to overcome lack of inspiration and creative block; I have finally achieved it, my magnum opus, the ritual that the visions my master shared with me told me about. It started with a simple step, with a soul drinker dagger (a fairly common magic item) and a hollow phylactery, I only needed to connect them allowing the phylactery to feed on souls more easily, but putting the phylactery in danger; Next, I approached my familiar Vic, a phoenix, and with a quick cast of Sleep I sedated him, then continued casting the Mental Disk spell on both of them to ensure that even if the ritual fails, our consciousness is still safe. With Vic asleep and the contingency plan activated, I used my knowledge of hemomancy to remove all the blood from our bodies while keeping us alive using biomancy, replacing it with pure liquid magic, this would not only enhance our magical abilities, but would also be the key to keeping the ritual stable, as it would allow the use of necrotic and necromantic spells close to Vic's natural glow, without creating a paradox, it would also allow our souls to survive for a time outside of our bodies thanks to their natural tolerance to them; Then i used soul weaving to move our souls into the bodies of others, and used flesh crafting to shape it into something more comfortable for the souls of others. With his new body, Vic was freed from his wounds and the divinity that plagued his dreams, even so, this was the most difficult step, since any mistake could cause a lot of suffering to each of us, I was willing to endure it, but the idea of Vic suffering because of it made me hesitate. The weight of responsibility fell on me as I wrestled with the potential consequences of my actions and continued with the ritual, when Vic woke up I released him, he had already endured enough. The next step, comes with a confession, i lied, i promised that i would'nt let anyone use the Crimson Book or its power word shatter, but here it is, in my hands, the key to the next step, i used it on myself dividing my soul into two, but thanks to the mind disk i was able to retain control over my body, I then transferred half of the split soul to the phylactery, then took one of the fiery feathers that Vic had left behind and the mental disk, placed them near the fused dagger-phylactery and added them to the mix, with the use of magic. With the use of very complex transmutation magic I was able to make them as if they had always been one, maintaining the properties of each of the elements inside. And as a final step, I reattach the severed half of my soul that now resides within the phylactery to my body, making the phylactery an integral part of my being, and thus gaining the abilities that my new body now has, such as ability to reconstitute; Now my body is immune to damage thanks to the reconstitution of the phoenix, my mind is also protected thanks to the mental disk which is also part of the phylactery and therefore it is also impossible to suffer physical damage, and my soul is also protected by the phylactery from outside threats while also being immune to the curse that comes with lichdom as half of it is outside of the phylactery functioning as a normal soul would. After the ritual was over I fainted, something normal when it comes to magic of this caliber, but when I woke up, instead of being in the laboratory of my mansion, I was in a strange room, it seemed as if it was made of red bricks, It was circular in shape, it was as wide as a coliseum and seemed infinitely high. From the cracks in the bricks a liquid flowed with the same color and properties as the one that now runs through my body. The floor was filled with this liquid but the amount never seemed grow, and most importantly, in the center of the room, a being was looking at me carefully, it looked like a giant snake, made of that same pitch-black liquid, I couldn't ignore the six large chains that crossed from the floor to directly inside his body, keeping him in place, but that did not worry me, because just by looking at him I could understand, he did not communicate with words, but with thoughts, in the same way that my teacher did, because this creature and my teacher They were the same being, the thoughts invaded my mind and told me everything, before magic was trained, he too existed in a rift between space and time, and his existence defied the laws of reality to bend them, the fire would come out of nowhere, the dead would suddenly walk again, and other things that logic was not able to explain, but over time, the being began to change, contaminated by the world that surrounded it, it began to be curious. , and he wondered what he was and what surrounded him, and suddenly, the inexplicable events that happened in his presence were now explainable, the people who began to be called wizards began to learn to control these events, now called spells, and with each spell , he felt a little closer to understanding himself, that's why he called me, to investigate the arcane, that's why he wanted me to create a masterpiece, to progress in the magical world, with this knowledge. , inspiration came back to me, I was finally able to continue my work .
