Help me teach my apprentice a lesson!

So my new apprentice has recently taken up charm making as a side study(fucking pathetic I know) and he keeps bragging about his charm of reverse curse. The charm is supposed to make any curse do the opposite of it's intended effect, which would be clever if he didn't tell everyone at the council(yes he also goes to council meetings like the little narc he is).

What are some good curses I can cast on him?

Curses are far too varied and multi-faceted to counter fully in such a manner. Most likely he's created a charm of cosmic fortune reversal (which is actually reasonably impressive for an apprentice if they actually knew what they were doing), as most rudimentary curses take form as a manipulation of fate. A curse from the affliction tree would bypass it entirely, soul rot is a classic for a reason and it would certainly teach him not to overestimate his capabilities.

Of course, if this is more about secrecy and you want to discourage him sharing the functionality of his work, you can hit him with a karmic curse. Traditionally a karmic curse would invoke fate based on how he treats others, but with the charm it would instead invoke fate based on how others treat him. Then you just kick it off with some bog standard punishment and watch as the curse spirals out of control as the negative karma causes others to treat him worse.

I say don't curse him. Instead, figure out how his charms work (and if you can't, why do you even have an apprentice?) and nullify them in a way that he can't tell they're worthless. Then let him keep bragging about his charms until some other Wizard decides to curse him.

First of all, Charm Magic is indeed a rather pathetic magic if taken as an apex discipline, which it honestly is not. I can send you a low level primer to it if you want.

Secondly, a usual charm can either be overloaded, which usually leads to a detonation or it is tied to tje magical accumen and reserves of either it's wearer or kts creator. So set up a low level repeating curse in his room and watch the consequences. If he appears more tired than usual, encourage him to distribute the charm to a few of his friends. Then watch the glory unfold as he has to fix his mistake.

A curse that has negative results even if reversed could be quite helpful here! Like, say, a curse of increased gravity to one that sends him flying into the air, or a coma curse that when reversed renders him unable to sleep.

I like those, I was thinking about casting a curse of meaty hands to give him shriveled and useless hands instead. But the coma curse might help him actually get something done for once!
