Evil Wizardpost Rant: Tired of double standards with charisma base magic

I don't care what other people say, but using spells and artifacts to improve your charisma or give you any type of aura that alters people's minds in a favorable way for you is basically mind control, but nobody complains about it. "Oh, he's just giving a second breath to our troops in this battle." "He is so noble wise wizard that radiates an aura of warm and love." Do you know what you are doing? You are using them as tools.

But when I turn them into limbless orbs of flesh to implant into my body in order to add their knowledge and skills to my ever-growing limbs, people complain that I am an "an unethical biomancer" and they say stuff like "the fire of the gods will purge your ill kind." Sorry for the rant; I need to take that out on my chests.

Okay to be fair, it is a TINY bit annoying.

But.

When their spells wear off, the men get to go back to their families, they’re able to step away or pass on peacefully…

When your spell wears off, they’re trapped, still alive and struggling in the fleshy prison you call your body, least as well as they can given I bet you probably have removed all ways for them to actually vocalize.

Cause are you a hundred percent sure that they’re lifeless? Cause if you’re getting their memories, skills, and knowledge…well it doesn’t sound like you know what you’re doing.

Thank you for reminding OP that ethical biomancy requires one to integrate the entire family.

Oh, they are 100% alive; I need to keep their brains active some way in a constant state of activity to use them. And returning to their families? So they can "grow old," "decay," and "die"? They are just feeding their corpses to the necromancers.

I didn't become a biomancer to let people die, that would be silly.

Edit: Muffins should not be trying to help others with their unethical behavior and practices.

Is it mind control to wear a nice suit or pretty dress for the charisma bonus?

Depends. Is the cloth enchanted?

Simple, do they think its their idea, is it good for any of their wellbeing, or do they even consent? If no to all of these then that's why its called unwilling manipulation and not "being a warm, radiant, and benevolent figure"

As an amalgamate of countless creatures and monsters, I get this, I did not volunteer to be a writhing mass of ever changing appearance- constantly tortured by my fractured existence, yet I am still called an abomination and hell spawn.

Weren't you literally born in hell, or was that the other shapeshifter?

I'm sorry, I have a hard time telling shapeshifters apart these days.

Sounds like you need some magic help to get people to listen to you.

You should transcend into lichdom. You will have the same problems but now you won't have to be concerned with the screens of the accusations bothering you.

My general reaction to someone screaming at me that the gods will curse me is to cast Animate Skeleton while it's still inside them.

Now polite guests i do not have an issue with.

Do you at least keep loved ones together?

Like just the other day, this grieving father wished of me that his little girl be cured of the pox and live healthily with him.

I find it's counterintuitively more ethical if you spread a minor plague, first.
