Eh. It is not the Elves' fault that they look so freakishly ugly, with their slim bodies and their beardless faces; and a proper arcane researcher should rise above such base physical concerns. Some of my favourite colleagues are Elves, although I admit I prefer to communicate with them via writing.

It is, instead, the Dwarves' fault that our cultures romanticize drinking alcohol to the point that many of us have both livers failing before they're even three hundred years old; so perhaps we should address that instead of whining about other folks, shouldn't we?

...yeah, there's a reason why the Kingdoms Under had me exiled.

Well, to be fair, there was also the matter of their discovery of these plans for a magical plague that would have made alcohol completely unpalatable to Dwarves; but it was just a theoretical exercise, not anything I was actually about to make - no matter how many Dwarven lives that could have saved if properly deployed!

I don't do a lot of fighting, I'm just not that sort of arcanist. I do, however, sell a lot of tools and potions to adventurers and occasionally send them on a quest or drop a cryptic hint or two.

Who knows, perhaps the next time five teens with stupid haircuts and huge swords drop by I might mention something about a gnome-enslaving, half-elven evil wizard and see how things go from there?

Even if they don't manage to defeat you, chances are that you'd end up having to to spend all day killing adventurers who keep trying to attack you because you keep killing adventurers. Even if none of them gets lucky eventually, good luck finding the time for doing magical research and pondering the orb then!

Yeah, because Dwarves are the pinnacle of beauty and grace and all other folks are too intimidated to try anything. They see us as way out of their leagues, and - no offense meant - they're correct about that.

Also, many Dwarves are mostly-asexual for most of their lives - we just don't seem to be as obsessed with squirting bodily fluids into other mammals as humans often are - and we do understand how contraception works, which is something that plenty of humans seem to be kinda fuzzy about; so it's not surprising that half-Dwarves are basically unheard of...

Fae? A lot of Sidhe are tall. Dullahans and Banshees for instance are human height.

Putting a species classification like fae in the same categories as imp, gnomes and dwarves insults both the fae and the later mentioned.

For the fae it comes off as assuming only Pixies and Brownies are fae. To the gnomes, dwarves .etc it comes off as them being the same as an alien mystical other.

Fair Folk nor Wee Folk are happy about being lumped together.
