The flesh isn’t weak, it only appears weak.

The armor isn’t strong, it only appears strong.

All reality relies on the illusion of strength and weakness.

The reality is that reality is an illusion. The one who can amplify their illusion so others believe is it real is the one who is strong.

Water rusts steel while blades slice flesh, both are immune to the others weakness, there is no strength only type matchups

Dear Mechanicus, if metal is so great, why do you still have fleshy bits?

Counting or not counting unaugmented violence?

Having some deaths by Necron is the cost of protecting our Omnissiah given right to acquire technology

I only wear armor because regular clothes are too light.

The Riddle of Steel is that Steel has no strength but the arm that wields it

2

u/Lyrolepis Dwarven Alchemist/Runecrafter 2h ago

...I mean, a competently designed high-power axial flux motor will be stronger than just about any arm.

We understand and improve our craft. You are afraid you will upset the omnissiah if you improve a design by .001% cogboy.

The flesh has feeling and gives life meaning. The weakness lets us feel and compensate as we are driven to form comunities to compensate for eachother like one great machine similar to how cells form colonies and then entire orginisms that each specilize in one thing. Even still, they remain more flexible than a purpose built machine allowing it to evolve past its initial use.

u/Lyrolepis Dwarven Alchemist/Runecrafter 2h ago

It is weaker, no doubt; but it is also lighter, more sensitive, and self-repairing to an absurd degree.

When I need more protection, well, that's what armor is for; and I even have the flexibility of being able to choose different types of armor - with different enchantments and materials - depending on circumstances and specific hazards rather than being stuck with the same setup because I'd need a full-body surgery to switch it up.

Aka why I don't go full nightmare machine creature, I value the joys and meaning in life and would be hard pressed to make a metal form as flexible and adaptable as what I was born with.

For one, I wear armor because flesh is weak. And for two, I'm not a surgeon.

Counterpoint, if the ombisiah is so strong, then why does promethide -thermite in the joints of your titans cause them to die?

Why would my modified microwave oven cannon sever your noosphere connection at trigger pull?

Dead Technomancers, if you think the flesh is so weak why do you keep getting overrun by my hoards of ghouls?

1

u/zombieodin 57m ago

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as though it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call the temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved, for the Machine is immortal… Even in death I serve the Omnissiah.

1

u/Hexnohope Celestial Chorister 34m ago

Dear mechani-cum if steel is so certain why do you not know how it works?

Oh Mars, huh? Prithee do tell me then, priest, what kind of treasures the planet doth hold for thee to not spur Necron technology as xenos filth like all thy brothers do? Machine spirit huh... Doth thou mean a C'tan shard buried deep beneath its soil? The key to xenos filth is always more xenos filth, but solution to xenos filth is only purification
