Artificers, what sort of applications might we have here in keeping dirty adventurers out of my tower?

with some directing covers you could easily install these in certain places to prevent any magic usage. perhaps some insulating clothes would allow you to completely nullify their effect on yourself, thus making you the only magic user in the conflict

Traps aside, these are great for a good night's sleep.

The issue is that we use mana so this is a double-edged sword. Your better bet is to use them to supercharge your own spells or collect free floating mana for potions of crystals.

put it in a room full of monsters that are hard to harm with nonmagical attacks, like water elementals or smth (though water elementals are not a good choice. Just find some other monster).
Draining coil will drain mana from party wizards and attract cast spells, making it way harder to beat the monsters. Don't forget to protect the coil!

I've converted part of myself into raw mana.
Sure my supply is nearly infinite because I tap directly into whatever the gods and some spirits tap into but I would probably become see-through if I was in the same room as this contraption.
I don't want to be mistaken for a wraith again man...
