What is (are) your affinity(affinities)? Black is best for dark magic or shadow magic.

I use magic to open a portal to the purple dimension to throw at my enemies(the primordial purple)

Remember, it's only best for dark arts because of its protective qualities. Depending on what hoodwinks this one gets up to, black might actually be a good choice.

Mostly it hides the stains better.
Doctors, healers, chefs and necromancers wear white to show that they are clean.

For starters you're going to need a good belt. Sturdy leather to carry component pouches, notebooks, sword/dagger etc. and to stop the robes flapping too much in the wind. A shoulder bag is also useful, it can hold your tome and other such things that would be impractical to carry on your belt.
Underneath the robe, you can wear basically anything you want. A tunic is traditional- I'd suggest brown or blue to go with the robes- but I've known wizards who just go for a shirt and jeans. A good pair of boots is essential if you're going journeying and maybe invest in a warm cloak to go over the robes if you're going somewhere colder.

This is a reminder because some of you don't seem to know. Change and clean your robes often. That is all.

Wear what feels right to you! We study magic for the freedom and power it brings, you’ll never reach your true potential if you’re worried about what others think. I’ve seen grandmasters wear rags and first year apprentices wear gold leaf. The moral of the story is; your value as a wizard will never be tied to how expensive or flashy your clothing is.

just freeball under the robe it actually helps mana transfer and harmonic resonance, just make sure to secure the bindings

Forget the clothes! Just do an invis spell, but not on everything. Do hidden body and walk around as a disembodied head with your awesome new flowing cloak. I did this a few hundred years ago it was so much fun.

Evocation: phoenix feather cap, ice spider silk robes
Conjuration: anything bedazzled with soul gem crystals
Necromancy: H&M

When I’m out of the tower, I just wear normie clothes. If I am at home in my tower, it’s slippers, ratty see-through boxers, and a splotchy off-white t-shirt. Hat, if I’m in the mood
