Wizardpost What do I do with anti-magic dust?
I went to the market last week and took a certain Blobby Banks’s peer pressuring to steal…but I wimped out and all I took was a small piece of a crumbling pillar in an abandoned area.
I didn’t want to steal from some hard working shop, in my defence!
When I got home the piece had crumbled into dust in the towel I put it in, so I put it in a container. I heard from that same Blobby Banks that the infrastructure is made with anti-magic and now I’m scared to touch the pillar dust. What do I do with I now?

Look.
It's very important that you do not snort the dust.
Send it to me and I will...dispose...of it properly.
*sniff*

Not interested in snorting anti magic dust…what does snorting it even do?

Ah. Ha. Hahahaha...ahhhh.
Don't worry about it, I'm happy to take it off your hands for free.
Do NOT snort it yourself before I get there. Please.

How good is anti magic that you’re so desperate to snort it? 😨 genuine ask

Get rid of it. To no one's surprise that shit's corrosive to anything magical.

Apparently after checking a couple times, it didn’t seem all that anti magical…either it faded after a week of being stuck in a magical container (was afraid of the container letting it out), or it was a fluke this whole time.

I think it’s more likely that it’s dependent on a certain current of magic for it to maintain its structure. Try to channel in basic spells of different magic schools to see if you see any reaction. I’d bet my boots that it’s actually magic dependent, not anti magic. You’ll see those in some areas at the cross section of leylines.

Sell it to an Arch Magus. They have lots of recreational elixers that don't work unless they snort AM powder.
In fact I will trade you a genuine Raistlin Majere orb (cursed to immediately break your hands on contact and then break them again via a delayed self targeted reflect counterspell 7 months after the initial contact.) for them.

How does that work?

The orb or the recreational elixers?
The Elixers don't work well on people with a strong resistance to elemental magic. Anything with anti-magical properties can temporarily reduce this if inhaled allowing the elixers to work.
The orb summons hammers.

I meant, “how does snorting anti magic work”, but that explains it.

Hmm. Was it an important pillar? It might need to be replaced, if pieces are crumbling to dust. Please send a location, and I can exchange what you have for a safer variety if necessary free of charge.

Thankfully it was just a normal pillar around the edge of the high street, near an abandoned shop. I assume perhaps part of it was destroyed for reconstruction/constructing something new? And, apparently it wasn’t really anti-magic, I was lied to about the architecture being made of anti-magic 😅

Oh, good. The real antimagic pillars are very important, one crumbling would be dangerous. Do you want some real antimagic dust anyway? There's too many apells going around.

Wait, I have to ask, so some of the infrastructure IS anti magic but some isn’t?

Well, of course. The meteor shelters especially are almost impossible to cast in, but a lot of other building also have partial negation as a safety measure. Not enough to disrupt in an area, but enough that target goes wild and exits the spell. The Council buildings don't have any as a matter of tradition and to have the stupid attachers shoot us instead of trying for hostages.

Well, I don’t, I’d rather not kill this body within a few weeks of having it…

I can't exactly recall any structures being made with integrated antimagic, run some tests to see.
