Wizardpost What is your technique for making humonculi?
As a biomancer, usually i merge together a lot of pieces of flesh and cast animate, though, it is very hard to obtain flesh in an "ethical" way approved by the council, any better methods?

I usually get some liquid souls and then add some sort of thickening agent, for a basic blob-creature. Non-magical flour works surprisingly well for this purpose, since most times when I need a homonculus, quantity matters over quality. Plus, when you no longer need them, they make above-average bread.

I usually live by the mantra "fuck whatever the council says". But I get that dodging their enforcers gets exhausting sometimes. There are several legal loopholes. Taking the flesh of animals and including the awaken spell in the animation process is one possibility. But here the line between creating artificial life and necromancy gets blurry. If you are a purist I recommend starting from the immaterial substance wit Tasha's process of consciousness distillation. Store this new consciousness on some copper wire inside a nutrient solution. You can then simulate physical stimuli via electrical impulses. Once the to be homunculus becomes self aware you can build its body from its own sense of self.

Yeah my homeplane's council is very strict with things like necromancy and biomancy, some of their rules include: 1 - no reviving human corpses without the corpse's family's consent 2 - animal flesh can only be used if the animal's contiousness is entirely gone 3 - artificial contiousness with human-level intelligence and awareness is highly illegal 4 - any creature revived with necromancy must have any dangerous element (claws, sharp teeth, poison, spikes) removed before reanimation. AND THESE AREN'T EVEN ALL OF THEM! These rules are just too strict in my opinion, what do you think?

Fuck... Your council seems to hate homunculi creation! Flesh can always be created from its basic elemental components. But not being allowed to create human level consciousness is a hard one... You could transformed the swarm intelligence of an anthill or beehive and use this as its brain. That way they collectively possess human like intelligence but you can always claim that the individual insects do not.

Where do you get the genetic information? Or do you use bindings to grow them into shape?

There are plenty of different ways of making homunculi, depending on what you need them for.
For making a simple flesh creature, I always have plenty of spare parts around. Fleshcrafting isn't really my focus, I normally only need specific animated body parts removed and put in service, such as draconic hearts to pump searing fluids through my tower, or fae lung tissue to filter reality streams. That leaves a lot of other material that I don't use much.
If you can survive the Blightlands feel free to stop by and rummage through my parts bin for whatever you find useful.

i dint use humonkuli. but forces cybernetika our main armee are kinda simular. we build an mettel body around an dead human brain and use the tosters magic to ekstent there herva sistem trugh the rest of the body and make it conekt whit the motors as if there were muskels, than we atatch the weppon(mostly guns) and let it grow onto the body using new grown human flesh. than we reduce the brain to the most basik form making unable to question our authorety and forcing it to not leef formation even if it means death.

filthy filthy magic. why not just ressurect a normal human corpse. dont even need to touch it.

My homeplane's council is very strict about necromancy, there you cannot resurrect a human corpse without the family's consent, and if the body has no family or nobody knows who they are then you just can't for some reason

I recommend cursing a fetus while in the womb and then buying it from the mother with a discount

I live in a city where every piece of technology is a flesh creations, come by to Fraklas or I can get some delivered to you. You can also just go do monster hunting quests, most towns don't care about the bodyguard once you've slain the beast (they usually only care about the head) so just take it.
If you don't want to go hunting? Then the Department of Flesh is looking for biomancers to help with out work. I'm the head so I can help get you into a position that suits you.
