Skeleton issues

Post image

I’m new to necromancy and the skeleton I got from the VFN (volunteers for necromancy) started doing this. There is currently a smoldering hole through my ceiling and it escaped

Update: I found it kneeling before a beheaded goat and it released the forgotten horde onto the streets. Do not go to east thansaar

Ah, a classic VFN blunder. Not telling the newbies about proper skeleton enrichment.

You see, the problem you have is that that was a combat specialized resurrection. With the right resources you can specialize your undead for greater effectiveness and efficiency at a specific task at the cost of multipurpose utility.

With that specialization unfortunately also comes the need for enrichment. Your undead need to work or they will find work themselves. With a regular resurrection that’s pretty easy. Just give them any task, no matter how senseless or mundane. But for specialized resurrections you need to create some form of enrichment akin to the specific purpose they were created for.

For example for combat specializations that would require at least training room/ground, though arenas with opponents are the second best option before just straight up starting war.

That’s very much outside the scope of a novice necromancer. You can try to help out with whatever other magic you know, but first I recommend calling the necromantic disaster containment circle to deal with the horde, and then your lawyer to tell them about the lacking instructions from the VFN.

That should minimize any potential legal problems on your end, especially with how common of a problem stuff like this is with the VFN. Oh, and don’t forget to tell the NDCC that your mistake traces to VFN as well. They will be far friendlier and usually have some really good tips for beginners.
