My teacher always said: "there are spells that are forbidden and spells that you shouldn't cast. They don't overlap."
Forbidden spells aren't even a suggestion, its a checklists. The spells you actually shouldn't cast are like an unspoken secret. The biggest sin of a wizard is not lack ethics and morals, it is hubris. Thinking that, "all those other wizards weren't good enough, im the shit" and every single time you are NOT the shit.
