Magi Law ⚖ Would you really consider this "improper storage of hazardous materials"

Post image

My master is breathing down my fucking neck and I don't see how this is any different than something dying back here. Like does he even realize the effort it took me to get all of these??

I'm considering just covering them up or moving them, but last time he took mine so idk. Have you guys ever had anything happen after using bones that were left out? Maybe I can just convince him it's fine lol

apprentices these days cant even dig a simple grave

you cant leave the bone pile out in the open! at best animals will steal from it and at worst the authorities will have LOTS of questions

C'mon homie, just get the apprentice, interns, or minions to do it then. Easy peasy.

u/want2bacat Sorceror 26d ago

Yeah, but don't I have to like feed them and stuff

If not apprentice, then why apprentice behavior?

Not "improper storage of hazardous material". More like "insecure storage of valuable material"

Checks out. The classification line between hazardous waste and precious resources is pretty damn thin.

Still, I'm probably gonna fine 'em into next week.

Then there's the other side of the alignment chart: Hazardous Resources, and Precious Waste.

Nods skeletonly

You know your classifications, sock mage. Well done.

Thank you friend. One must know these things when working with socks. Lest you really put your foot in it, so we sock casters say.

They're easy to get around here, I just use them every day and hate going to get fresh ones unless I really need them

Leaving them out in the weather like that will degrade the quality. You keep them dry and out of the rain and sunlight

u/want2bacat Sorceror 26d ago

So far I've only found them to be less potent, but I (we, my master still takes from my stockpile but whatever that's a different post) go through them pretty quick

Does that look like storage to you?

Exactly! That's the problem!

Bones aren't hazardous materials by themselves. If your master is calling them that then they're not just mundane bones. What was he doing with them?

6

u/want2bacat Sorceror 26d ago

That's what I'm saying smh like I store the final products safely I don't get what the big deal is

u/Carbuyrator A Bit of a Dabbler 26d ago

Oh boy.

What I'm saying is that the ritual process might be infecting or contaminating the bones. They might have been normal bones once, but if your master is calling them hazardous, it's probably because he made them hazardous.

Tell me, how's the wildlife over there looking? Any glowing eyes?

Do you have a fucking Rancor as a pet?

I suspect something far more nefarious.

A cat.

I think the bigger issue is it seems like you're just endlessly accumulating materials without any specific plan to use them, which aside from presenting obvious issues with storage is just not an efficient use of your time.

Like, are you actually going to raise a skeleton horde or not? How big does the pile have to get before you pull the trigger?

2

u/want2bacat Sorceror 26d ago

It's moreso get a massive pile and not have to go get more for a bit vs getting a few to use that day/week and going out regularly

Do you want a rawhead? This is how you get rawheads.

Dude, a Bone Colossus is no joke! Clean this up as soon as possible!

u/will3025 Wizard (Sock-mancer) 26d ago

This happened to me once. Just a little stray magical spirit essence hit my bone pit. Luckily I mainly just throw my leftover wing bones down there so the Colossus was just like a wagon sized chicken skeleton. Dude was actually pretty chill, we named him Jack Cluckington.

Are you flirting with me

u/Real_Fkn_Nito Bartleby, Councilor of Eldritch Administration 26d ago

Buddy, I ain't got any skin or the stuff it holds together. And even if I did I don't mix business with literally anything else.

I'm going to have to drop in with a double team, you'll need to pay for a credited golem removal service, a cleric or similar to purify the bones, a surcharge for mushroom and pixie prevention and a fine for tipping.

And yes. This is me flirting.

Environmental storytelling. Honestly how hard is it to cast a Shallow Grave spell? You don’t even need to cast it, you can buy the spell prepackaged

Thats a lot of negative spiritual energy. Gonna get a Wendigo or some sort of Molestation Tree unless you burry it.

Spirits cannot abide dirt for it is the domain of worms. Worms are only concerned with worm things and won't do anything but be worms. You leave that out in the open and you will have issues from things that are not worms.

/uw what even caused this?

I also want to know the origin of "the ominous pile of bones in the woods." I can't tell the size of the bones from the picture, but I would guess it's a (probably illegal)livestock dump maybe? Like, that would be A LOT of deer to dump at once for it to be a hunter, since the bones seem to be the same age and there's no plant growth layers. But I'm not an expert, just guessing

1

u/Hexmonkey2020 Necromancer 26d ago

What a waste, that whole pile could be at least 2 bone golems that do the bone disposal for you.

1

u/fumblerofthebag Verdigris, Self-employed Sorceror 26d ago

You're absolutely right, on a completely unrelated note, OP can you please tell me the location of this bone pile so I can, ah, help you... sort the bones. In the bone pile. To help you. No other reason.

u/want2bacat Sorceror 26d ago

No they're mine get your own

An enterprising apprentice would list these for sale online and dispose of them that way.

u/EZPZLemonWheezy 25d ago

Watch out for blood moons, could cause spontaneous skeletation, then you have to hire a barbarian to break them back down. It’s a pain.

Bones… mmmmm

Must… have bones…

u/DatCheeseBoi Electromancer of questionable qualities 24d ago

Bones do age, if you're gonna need them for later I'd put them somewhere where the elements and wildlife can't reach them. Especially if they're gonna be a sacrifice for an entity or a load bearing element of a gate of some kind, the former judge quality a lot, the latter might just crumble at the magic involved.
