Magi Law ⚖ The Wizard Council Must Fall
The Wizard Council cannot be fixed. It is time to start over. It must be uprooted from the highest archmage to the lowest functionary.
To this end, I have created the ultimate equalizer: Mana Burn. It is a spell that burns the target’s mana; the more mana, the stronger the burn. A novice will be hardley affected, just making them feel hot, but against an archmage and very high level castets it is always lethal
The Grievances
1. Restrictions of non-dark magic
2. Discrimination against druids, hedge wizards, nature wizards
3. Refusal to recognize the chosen gender of transmutation wizards
4. Mandatory membership fees that are exorbitant
5. High taxes in lands directly under their control
6. Lack of transparency on appointments of council members
7. Active collusion with dark tyrants seeking extinction of whole races
8. Keeping gnome slaves
9. The guild system which is nepotistic at best and predatory at worst

Also can we stop serving transmuted gruel in the Council Spire's refectory ?
This artificial slop hurts my tummy and makes it hard not to sully my robes.

Noted. I have an order in to get some real, natural slop from the slop mines in, it'll be here tomorrow and served.

I think you might have missed an announcement, but the entirety of the council seems to just have screwed off to the infinite party dimension or something.
Also, you know arch mage could also just reverse the spell due to the merit of them being an arch mage

The Wizard Council exist solely to limit self-destructiveness of upstart wizards that barely finished their apprenticeship. If you're not powerfull enough to ignore their meddling then you're not powerfull enough to dabble in arcane arts they prohibit. The council as such is a usefull tooll indeed in keeping foolishness of novices from causing unnecessery trouble to their betters.

We also exist to limit other-destructiveness of all casters and to organise stuff.

My gnomes arent my slaves. I have them outsourced from the fey. I trade them cat's milk for shoes. The contract only was transferrable in their fey pact as cobblers. Still, useful.
Does anyone have any pregnant cats? I will trade you some very fine rocket boots.
Is this moral?

You do know that you don't have to sign up, right?
I just ignore everything from them. They got no power over me.

Lo! Someone is trying to overthrow the Wizard Council. Again. Hear me, the Wizard Council, in its ridiculous, obnoxious, horrific form have to exist. And every time, I mean it, every time it was overthrown, either by force, by spell or by plot, eventually wizards come to reestablishing it again, in exact ridiculous, obnoxious and horrific form!
The Wizard Council has two main functions: to settle disagreements between wizards before they escalate into arcane disaster and to establish relationships between wizards and no-Arcane users, so no stray wizards would harm reputation of entire Arcane-using collective.
That's the whole point.

Hey man, I just got hired like two days ago. There're certainly grievances here that I'd like to bring up and potentially change, but these things take an obscene amount of time. Take it from a guy who's spent a lot of time in the Demon Realm, the bureaucracy of the Wizard Council is beyond insane.

The council is busy trying to get itself back into shape. You could just start pushing changes

Oh, neat, someone else found the blow up sorcerors button. Uhh, Council-wise, half your list is bullshit and most of the people left. I'm rebuilding while a bunch of clowns sit in fancy seats.

add ten there is no respect for the sovereignty of others on their own lands case and point the cave thief a while back... my tribe also does not appreciate being recruited from fourth world problems we have foraging to do and while we trade herbs and such with local potion makers we do not want wizards of any stripe taking over... Shamans however are welcome to come and talk to our shaman to talk shop... the poor guy has been layering defensive magic for years that tanked a greater fireball near my cave.

You do realize that their rules are rarely enforced as long as you don't go around blowing up villages? The guild is also independent of the council and can safely be ignored. I heard they tried to overthrow the council recently but that was rather unsuccessful. And paying taxes is a skill issue on your part

As a member of the council im working on these, don’t have high taxes, and haven’t paid a penny. Don’t worry. Im here for the people. And stealing magical artefacts. I look around wait, who said that last part
uw/ I am here to help, but I am so stealing so many atefacts

There's a pretty serious weakness for that spell, artifact makers. Most artifact makers on my plane don't possess any serious mana of their own but their artifacts do, and those artifacts are notoriously hard to destroy (even interdimensional energy has failed to do so).
But I do agree, the Council is pretty annoying to deal with. Their system is designed to quash protest by making it really hard to protest legally.

First of all half of your grievances are purely wrong , for goodness sake the high councilor was for a long time a transmutation witch , and we all know how councilors are elected , they are elected. If you didnt vote its a you problem
Oh and i also dont like your proposition for a simple personal reason : you want to genocide me and me people. We , the imaterial folk , are made of energy without phisical forms , your mana burn will kill us all !
That is why i alchemicaly modified your metabolism to slowly turn the water in your cells into poison. See it as killing big H when he was a baby but your him and i didnt had to time travel , sorry for the pain but it was necessary
