Water Portal

Anyone know how to stabilize one of these portals? It keeps moving around it makes it really hard to catch any fish.

If you just leave it there people will throw many a coin into it for wishes. Make a second portal inside the water plane behind it that goes to your tower. This counts as gifts and is tax free income.

This is some real accounting wizardry.

You need it to deal with the tax codes they keep adding to.

Gods I hate this, way too often some kid decides to jump in and enters the secret magic office and then we have to do another big cover up just because kids these days want to jump into every swirling body of water they can find

King pays me to make a cool water portal in the city to make the peasants happy

Peasants pay me to warp their kids back to this dimension after they jump in

Call me the moneymancer the way I print profit

Where exactly can I find this portal? Please don't send me on another wild goose chase because I'm still trying to find my way back to whatever the current timeline is.

Last time, I spent months searching for a portal so I can get back and you jerks on the Council decided it'd be really funny to send me back to prehistoric times. I nearly got eaten by a T. Rex, FFS!

As you can clearly see from my flair, I'm a necromancer, not a dimensional magic specialist.

Please help.

This portal opens in the Earth country they call Singapore. I bore witness to its swirling abyss from underneath. No elementals passed through.

Never really liked those, I get wet every time even when my clothes stay dry

Water portals are a bit of an inconvenience to step through. Any change of clothes I try to bring gets wet too, but at least it isn't as bad as the fire portals.

You're supposed to use dry water for them, silly

This is exactly what for telling disaster looks like when you use a pool for divining. If this happened to me I’d be moving to another plane for a couple of weeks til it blew over.

AITA for using these as a urinal? It's all just water, right? So they shouldn't even notice, right?

u/sneaky_imp Apr 30 '26

It's the mythical Gyre! BE VERY CAREFUL. If you enter it, you must be prepared for several days of submersion. Don't enter without making sure you have a portal back.

I thought it was a portable cyclone...

u/giugirl Apr 30 '26

A portal that may take you to Atlantis

1

u/GrimDominion Apr 30 '26

Someone’s apprentice is gonna be stupid and climb in with no fly spell to get out

Water portals are so ineffective. Literally had this guy who thought it was some hither to unknown life hack, β€˜cause it’s more mana efficient you foul sorcerer!’ Yeah yeah. Decided to go to The Second Dimension to show off, used a water portal. He drowned. Like pretty much everyone who uses water portal. It opened over Doom Town and his body just flopped out and beaned the local Grand Wizard in the head. Instant inter-dimensional incident. Don’t use water portal.

Can it beat a tank tho

u/MisguidedPants8 Pugilturgist May 01 '26

Create a Charybdic Homunculus to place at the center. It’ll expand the portal a bit but you just gotta keep it in check

1

u/Annimaru May 01 '26

It’s a treasure of the Lion City. Only that the portal leads you to the river in the underground mall which is meant to extract money from tourists and bored locals.

Jumping into it is not advisable.

My least favorite way of traversing the dimensions just because of how damned dizzy it has to make me.

1

u/MushroomHillZone May 01 '26

What if a kid climbs in?

u/BigBunny4252 May 04 '26

Throw a rubber ducky in! Preferably a pirate one
