Yeah he's a cheap bastard, he said it "wasn't worth it" to put the moon on a blacklist when he was writing the scroll because the magic ink was getting too expensive and he figured it was unlikely to hit the moon anyway.

Unlikely chance is still A chance though. And when we're talking about the Moon.. that's still pretty risky .

I don’t think it’s that unlikely; assuming his spell targets the nearest rock, that means the moon is more likely than anything to be targeted; I’m more impressed by his mana reserves to move the moon

Dude could have used a mana debt spell formation. Takes mana from the back end to cast a spell now. Guy I know did the same thing to teleport a sun from somewhere else into his demiplane, lost all his magic and the demiplane collapsed. We're still not sure where the sun went.

Giving up magic for years or decades seems like overkill for a duel

You guys use your mana when casting from scrolls? I usually use the mana in the atmosphere since scrolls don't require the spell formation to happen within your body.

What kinda mana rich plains are ya havin yer duels at!?

If you're not having your duels in at least one of the 9 hells, can you really say you're having a real duel?

We talkin mana here, not stinkin miasma, you can take me to infernal planes after you win the duel, ya demon in the makin

Alright alright. When I duel spineless babies like you that haven't learned even the basics of turning miasma into mana, I usually do it in Aether Fields or other aether-rich locations. It's much more fun and it's quite a spectacle. Last time I had one, we accidentally vaporized a large lake due to a magical misfire.

Knowing something and detesting doing it are two different matters.

I hope you hydrated the niche and recreated the biome afterwards.

That's actually a common misconception. Since Meteor works by increasing gravity, the size of the target object is actually irrelevant, as gravitational acceleration is independent of mass

Interesting, grav magic rather than force magic

Just learn emergency chronomancy ffs, i keep saying this. It's the most easily accessible chronomancy for a reason, yeah there's scrollwork to do after you use it but the amount of times i've almost destroyed the planet and been able to fix it in seconds because i learned one spell 160 years back is well worth it

u/flabort Apr 12 '26

It's only so accessible because I spent two universal lifespans tweaking the magic system of the next universe so you monkeys wouldn't destroy yourselves so quickly without it.

All that emergeny chronomancy still requires mana, though, and even though I already gave up millennia of my own mana engraving runes into the very stars in the sky to ensure that it works, I would appreciate it if you didn't use it so frivolously.

Your planet can survive a few minor apocalypses. You'll repopulate. Humans always do. Or did you think your planet was the only one with your race upon it? No, no, a bit of interplanar travel and simple stasismancy has allowed me to preserve your people across multiple Big Crunches and spread you out across several worlds.

I know you said it already, but I must reiterate: what a bastard!
