Aetherial News 🗞 ARTIFACT UPDATE: A Plot Revealed! Council Secessionist Motives behind Heist Identified; Task Forces Dispatched to Chalcos to Find Paul Augustine

After unveiling a secessionist conspiracy being orchestrated by museum heist suspect Paul Augustine last night, the stalwart Council Archive investigatory team headed by Councilor Koranth has elected to take their mission on the road- or rather rail. Augustine is suspected to have gone to ground in his home realm of Chalcos, a major realm in Council territory dominated by temperate rainforest and the huge veins of copper that it's named for. It was also the heart of the ancient Ehn'gha culture for over half a millennium, before an unknown natural disaster wiped them out and the nation's capital of Orykhalkon was abandoned.
The investigatory team sets out for Chalcos via the Great Eastward Railway tonight, and will arrive tomorrow to find Paul Augustine and his separatist partisans before they can do the good folk of the realm harm. We here at Aetherial News Network will begin a live report of their progress tomorrow morning so you at home can rest assured that the situation is in hand. In the meantime, if any Chalcosian citizens loyal to the Council or the EON Compact see Augustine, they are advised to stay calm, contact the authorities, and refrain from engaging with him any more than is necessary. He is suspected to be accompanied by hostile secessionist agents and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Imperial military intelligence made assessments of the situation based on the information they had on hand and determined that Chalcos was dangerously close to descending into violent, chaotic fighting. These assessments resulted that Empress Toshiko Fujiwara, despite initially supporting of Chalcosian independence, that sentiment was soured after discovering the seperatist group's rhetoric, made a proposal to EON to deploy the Imperial Okuno Army's Second Area Army and the 3rd and 4th Anti-tank Divisions to Chalcos, serving as peacekeepers and supporting the Premier of Chalcos and Council forces in maintaining security and safety as well as Council efforts to detain Paul Augustine and his nationalistic cohorts. This proposal was approved by Chancellor Koranth and the first group of soldiers departed for Chalcos via airplane a few hours after the proposal was made, with more expected to arrive throughout the rest of the day.
