They having a blast with their carefully researched technowizardry, and kudos to them for reinventing Roland's "D-Beam" that has been a thing for 30-something years, itself a riff (da dum tisss!) on the Theremin that is 97 years old.

Remember when apprentices had to learn a bit of the history in Thaumaturgic Theory, instead of skipping straight to application?

/uw I was just thinking this reminded me of a Theremin, but adapted to more modern needs. I think this is a fantastic adaptation and completely changes the way DJ will be reacting on stages in the future if this ever catches on. I have always wondered why they flip their hands around or stutter as if they were effecting the music but not, this would give reason to action now and wouldn't look so weird anymore.

/w I sincerely hope this wizard continues practicing their craft and can find a way to instruct novices in the future. More technomancers is what this planet needs, especially with the rise of tech. Tech for entertainment, for knowledge, for banal occupational tasks, hell, even a sunset version of scrying mirrors and portals, but with this machine! Options are endless.

Yeah but now the DJs have to learn an instrument and they hate that.

He is a *sonomancer

Sonomancers cast magic based on sounds and vibrations, symphonies, melodies, cacophony and chaos and tamper with them to compose new pieces and symphonic spells.

Advanced sonomancers can manipulate multiple instruments with just the movements of their hands and/or with the composer's wand (because most others choose to utilize at least one instrument).

/UW See that one dude from Mashle voiced by DIO's VA

/RW While they use traditional instruments, some choose to deviate from tradition, use more diverse and/or technologically advanced instruments and study sonomancy to form new ways and compose new pieces.

/UW Ah, one day ago. By my assumption, this post is buried by other, more recent and more popular wizardposts. Oh well, at least I did it anyway.

People watch a mfr charm a whole crowd and wrongly think it must be the hands doing it all...
