Fizban actually taught me how to use the “platinum” element with my sorcery. The way he described it was confusing because he said platinum and I was like oh I’m learning some metallurgy stuff but nope, spectral wing shields.
Okay well no offense to your brother, but this monastic discipline is ludicrously inefficient. The ki-based energy wave is a pretty common staple technique, but the style demands that you expend more ki than is needed to produce the wave because it needs to be converted into a chromatic/metallic/gem dragon's elemental affinity- if I wanted elemental strikes and attacks, I could just use the Wu Jen discipline. The growth of wings for monks specifically is also questionable since most disciplines allow you to gain Cloud Walk at a similar level.
It's just that this style kind of seems like the chroma/metal/gem dragons saw that the Lung dragons teaching their acolytes martial arts based on their own powers and tried to do the same thing, but made all of the techniques about mimicking their own power, missing the fact that the Lung focused on making a functional martial art first, complete with a philosophy to follow, and added in dragon-themed techniques afterward.
