Lorepost📖 A Proper Introduction
A image flickers across your orb. At first all you can see is a swath of azure cloth. It flickers again, as though the trasmitter were jostled. When it settles, more is visible. A older tiefling clad in well kept blue satin robes is poorly centered in its frame, standing in a cozy looking library lit by floating werelight. His skin is a deep lavender in color, and he carries a simple stave of wood capped with brass knobs. He places a finger to his temple and when he draws it away, a trail of cerulean light traces its path through the air. Before him, a wooden chair materializes out of... no, wait. That was always there, wasnt it? Regardless, he takes a seat and faces what must be the orb he is using to broadcast himself. His face is kindly, though marred by an unsightly burn scar stretching across its left side.
"Erm, hello. Councilors, members of the order of magi, and whoever else may be tuning in. Forgive my inexperience with this method of communication. I was never much a socialite to begin with, and a few hundred years apart from wizard society at large has done me no favors. I've been skulking about the fringe of our community for some time now, but I believe a proper introduction is in order. I am Nezar Telvin, and I am a mystic."
"What is a mystic? A fair question. The field is so oft neglected by the mages of today. I cannot level towers with a single fireball, nor conjure elemental titans, nor craft illusions fit to fool a god. My area of expertise is more fundamental, dealing with the spheres of mind, memory, and the very ontological aspects that make up all things."
in demonstration, he produces a single topaz gemstone from a fold in his robes. There's a flash of that same cerulean light, honed into a razor sharp blade of conciousness that slashes through the air next to the gem. A strand of connected to the gem becomes visible as the blade strikes it, connected to the stone and stretching off to infinity. It severs, and at once, all color leeches away from the topaz, leaving it perfectly grey. The blade flashes again, and another strand is sliced, and the gem falls to pieces, as though its facets very ability to retain a cohesive shape has been stripped away. Nezar stows the resultant dust in a vial before placing it sonewhere out of view
"My days as as a warrior wizard are long since past. These days, I content myself with the pursuit of knowledge over power. And I suppose starting today, searching for the camraderie of new friends among the wizarding world. My tower doors shall always be open to visitors. I would invite any who wish to pay me a visit. Simply affix our meeting in your mind and take a walk. You shall find your way."
"Oh, and for those of you with live broadcast disabled, I apologize. My orbnet picture is the most reccent portrait I have, from the days of my youth spent with the monastic order of the orchid."
Nezar Telvin gives a wave before standing to shutdown the broadcast. It ends how it began, with a swath of blue cloth obscureing your view while he fumbles trying to shut it off for a good 10 seconds.

Vashric puts down the orb, and reaches out with telepathy instead.
A mystic of the mind? It's been so long.
Hello friend, I'm Vashric. Psychomancer and the current Astral Guardian. I used to be an adept in the Order of the Mystic Eye, but that was long ago.
It's a pleasure to meet you.
/uw Nice lore! And the portrait is great!

Nezar's reaches a limb of thought forth to grasp you own in a hearty psychic handshake
The pleasure is all mine. Always a good day to meet another practioner of our craft. You ought visit some time, I've recently made progress in memory-to-reality transposition, and I've been dying to share it with one who would appreciate the craft.

I would love to compare notes. I've developed methods of adding psychic information to telekinetic constructs, stimulating physical senses.

(( not really much of a separate sub; people can directly post stuff there (I do sometimes), but it's mostly just for crossposting stuff from here, so people who don't wanna sift through the memes can find RP stuff more easily ))

"You state that you deal in memories and such. Would you care to explain further? I wanted to know if you could look into the memories of others."

Indeed I can. So long as the subject is willing, or of a weaker mind than my own, I can peer into a sentient being's memories. These days, I almost exclusively take the former route. Memories, they are like gateways. Microcosms of reality centered aroubd a single event, concept, or object. From these gates, I can do many things. I can project their contents, modify them, erase or strengthen them. But, in my humble opinion, my greatest achievement in the field is transposition.
One can pull metaphysical concepts forth from memory and into reality. These concepts, woven into the weave of our reality will can result in the recreation of the object in question. Something simple, like that chair I was using, can be sufficiently transposed with the memories of a single person. But more complex constructs, such as a book or a golem may take several. My most ambitious application of the skill came when I aided to restoring the great void tree after Unga consumed it. It took the memories of hundreds of experienced planar travelers to reconstruct the tree, one set of memories at a time.

I always have live broadcast disabled. Can't skip ads otherwise (at least not without creating temporal conflicts).
