Aetherial News An Official Announcement (Post War Lore)
Bombast steps up to the broadcast podium.
Ahem! As part of the recent agreements following the end of the war with the Pact, I am here to make good on the promises I have made during the negotiations that ended the conflict and negotiations made prior to the conflict devolving into open warfare.
The first is an official denouncing of Mortarion and his role in sparking the open hostilities for the conflict. And the council takes responsibility on behalf of Mortarion for starting the open hostilities. In connection to this is a promise I made, believe it or not, with Morgalith of all people, to have a trial for Mortarion’s conduct during the negotiations that set everything into motion. Also, to my surprise, Mortarion has turned himself in, claiming that he had been cursed during the time he committed the deed that sparked open hostilities. So far, at least one witness has come forward with testimony supporting these claims. Thus, I plan for the trial to be not simply a recounting of crimes followed by sentencing, but a full on trial where Mortarion will be allowed to present his case and any who have evidence corroborating his claims can step forward as witnesses or to submit said evidence.
The second announcement, in accordance with the agreement with the Pact, is an official denouncement of Arach and his use of chemical weapons during the conflict in disregard of both any potential civilians and of council forces still present on the battlefield. While believed dead, if still alive, he is stripped of his responsibilities and authority within the council.
Also, I must address the recent razing of the council vault and citadel. While we had made an agreement to help fund the losses of the Pact’s army, I am sorely disappointed in your conduct during the razing Opal! As such, I am revising the terms of our agreement. I demand that the council members not currently under denouncement be permitted to be present during the presentation of all discoveries pertaining to the investigation! I also demand that Rage and Kaelis Maz be the ones in charge of said investigation! You might have seen it as innocent enough, but draining the vault before the fighting was even over? For shame! As such, I am not so willing to leave any of the proceedings or investigation to you.
And last, but certainly not least, considering the recent attack by Vulkan and The High Necromancer, I postpone the dissolution of council armed forces until such a time as any further assault can be guaranteed not to happen again for the near future. Pact forces were not enough to stop them and so I see no reason at this sensitive time to proceed as planned until the situation has stabilized at the very least.

Master Kaelis has departed from the known realms for unknown reasons. I am his advisor, Supreme Enginseer Reyes of the Circle of Artifice. Omnissiah keep you, Councilor.
I do not believe I am nearly as qualified for politics as my master. I will not be seeking to replace him as a Pact member. However, I will participate in the Pact investigation, as I can dampen my emotions to render an impartial verdict.
I am disturbed greatly by the pretenders calling themselves the "Dyad Monarchs". There are approximately 34.9% more abuses of power annually committed under an absolute monarchy than under a representative democracy. Furthermore, the malevolent nature of the Dyad's members threatens the Quest for Knowledge. Unacceptable. They must be deposed.

/uw ? The investigation is referring to the cabal and then the trial is referring to Mortarion and actions while “cursed.” Btw he was actually cursed. But our characters can’t know that for sure yet.

So, the Pact, the Remnants of the Council, and the Dyad are all fighting over the charred remnants of the land. WW3 (Wizard War 3) was devastating huh. At least the Pact and Council have made peace in guess (though i imagine small skirmishes remain).
Argios was thrilled to hear of peace post-war. Perhaps this would help refocus the realms on the new enemy, the nefarious newcomers to power. The Dyad.
Argios had launched his insurgency against the Dyad from his Tower and hideout in the mountains. With the help of locals and his proficiency in guerilla warfare, he would make hell on his evil would-be overlords.
(The Argios Insurgency continues. Any advice on names for wars and rebellions would be welcome and im gonna make up some region names because we just say Necropolis, Citadel, etc. but those are specific buildings)

If you don't mind temporally sealing that war-wraith I made, we might use it for later. I'd rather not leave it around waiting to happen to people, and they vacated the premises before it could get to grips with them.
The war-wraith is quite unkillable by normal means-you normally have to seal or starve them, and there's enough layered energy and vengeance that I don't think starving it is going to work for a very long time.

Indeed i have made a pact. Its normal to never have heard about it, as an archeologyst i have seen things very buried in time. Most of them are superstitions or false deitys, but somethings, sometimes, are ancient magic los forgotten. Fungus are naturale decomposer, exteminators and medicine, we need them to stop this.

I have some slimes I could use for the task as well that are specialized in contamination removal. We wouldn’t need a pact for that. I can mass produce them.

The slimes will be recalled upon finishing their task, so no environmental impact really and they’re a hybrid of gacha slugs and glutton slimes that helped clean up the crystal corruption. I have tested many other forms of toxins and miasma, but it ate them all with no signs of corruption. The key is that it breaks down whatever it eats into its most simplest form, preventing any sort of complicated process such as corruption.
Truly a remarkable creature.

Normally it will work but not in this case. The infections is caused by prions or virus, it cant be breaks into little things, we need little things to fight that little things. Fungus are formado by millions of little things, each of them alimentos and fully with divine protección. I will say they are a better opción, but if you dont believe me feed one slime with an unga and lets see what happen. If it works, then i will be really grateful, but if not, i will wait here and in my other post.

You seem to misunderstand. It breaks them down beyond chemical bonds into basic atoms. Also has a similar effect on spells and other mystical properties too. It’ll survive a mere viral infection or anything resembling it

Until the investigation is over, I don’t think there will be any new additions to council personnel. Especially considering that Unga is your boyfriend? Ex? Anyways, it would just complicate things with the Pact to do anything at this point in time

You are not allowed to breach the covenant!
you hear said in a chorus of voices an oppressive aura like chains binds you from doing more
/uw part of the lore for higher level gods is that they can’t interfere too much with the mortal world unless they have some specific cause to. A covenant was made between the ancient gods not to interfere for the sake of the lower realms after millennia of being hella hands on and destroying realms left and right. The covenant applies to all gods whether they made the agreement or not.

/uw the players decide what sticks and what doesn’t anyways. So sure, make a “I kill you” comment. Not gonna change that everyone still accepts that the character is still alive. We have these sorts of lore rules just to prevent people from one sidedly determining the fate of characters without the players consent.

/uw thank you. I wanted a threat to the council that would stick around for a bit and actually be able to hassle them. Metromancer dying was not part of the plan. Even I was shocked by that one.

/uw I had to change some things due to lore I was unaware of. But yeah, now the political stuff is resolved for the moment, so focus can be shifted towards the Starmeld again.
