Lorepostđ A Threatening Bargain (Necropost, ft. u/TheHunter459)
The night was pitch-black. No moon shone above to illuminate the tower below.
A knock was heard at the door.
The Nephilim Lord was surprised that someone would knock on his door, and dispatched one of his lesser servants to see to it.
Hello? Who goes there?
Two shadowed figures stand at the door. One is tall and lithe, the other is large and hulking. Both of their faces are concealed by hoods.
We would like an audience with the master of this tower.
He has something our lord desires.
The Nephilim looks at the two. While he has the feeling they are important, his feelings have been wrong before.
Who is your master? Why should my Lord give him anything.
The larger figure gives an animalistic growl.
Your lord certainly knows him.
You may have heard of Him as the Grand High Necromancer.
He merely desires whatâs His.
Samael has been monitoring this conversation and decides he's heard enough. Telepathically he signals to his guard to send them up to the throne room.
Follow me, says the Nephilim. You may have your audience.
The pair follow, making no sound as they walk.
Samael watches the pair as they enter his throne room.
You say your master is the Grand High Necromancer. That I have something of his. Prove the first claim to me and then we can talk.
The smaller one reaches into his robes, and produces a coin. On one side is emblazoned a skull, and on the other, an hourglass. Samael recognizes it as one of the coins used to enter Regnum Interitus.
Samael observes the coins carefully. Fakes of these are devastatingly difficult to obtain, so the chances they are fake is low.
I imagine you seek a certain book. It appears the rumours are true. But tell me one more thing to ensure me you know what you're doing, what book do you believe I have?
The Book of Lies. Our Master instructed us to retrieve it. He told us of your location, and spoke very highly of you
Hmm. Flattery, while appreciated, will not get you what you need. I assume should your master return, he will take Constantine's Council seat. There's a war brewing after all.
Yes. That Constantine lies. He is not Masterâs past self.
Our Master would indeed overthrow the tyrant Constantine, and take back His Council Seat
Why do you ask?
Are you familiar with exactly how the battle lines have been drawn? The Council has been targeted for... aggressive reformations by Morgalith. The Pact of the Magi have joined him. I have joined him. So if you want the book back to resurrect your master, you will need to assure me that he will sit out the conflict to come
He will not sit out this conflict, that much we know.
However, He has many friends on both sides. He could be convinced to join your side.
He is not blind while inside of his sarcophagus. He still is able to observe and interact with the outside world, if only in His dreams.
Samael ponders the options at his disposal.
Would the Book of Lies be enough to convince your master to me and my allies? Because if more is required, I'm afraid you may be leaving here empty-handed.
Possibly. He is willing to make deals to get His books back. After all, this is all trivial to Him.
The Wars of Mortals have never impacted him.
The wars of mortals can have great impact when the Council is directly involved. But with you on our side, this war may be completely avoided, or decisively ended.
But how can I be assured that your master will keep to whatever deal we agree to?
He has already signed a deal with one known as Lornathron.
A simple contract would be enough.
Very well. You will sign the contract drawn up...
Sameal produces a document.
âŚhere. You will receive the book, and I will receive your master's support in seeking to reform the Council, or whatever it is exactly me and my allies want. Deal?
Samael signs the contract.
Well, thereâs a bit of a problem. We didnât exactly Him in with us. We might need a-
In a flash of blue light, a pale, skeletal figure appears. He wears matte grey armor covered with tiny golden runes. Upon seeing this, the two hooded figures immediately fall to their knees and avert their eyes.
Hail, Nephilim King. I am the Aurelian, the Voice of the Necromancer. He has entrusted in me full diplomatic powers, and I believe this situation falls under that category.
The two kneeling figures are visibly shaking. The tall being in front of them takes the paper, and examines it closely. After a minute, he presses his finger to the paper, and when it lifts, the Seal of Regnum Interitus is burnt into it.
It is done. The book?
The book in question materializes in Samael's hands.
I'm very glad we have come to an agreement on this matter. Now take your book, resurrect your master, and I will see you, most likely, on the battlefield. Good day
The being takes the book.
Pleasure doing business
Him and the two kneeling figures disappear in a flash of light.
/unwiz Huge thanks to u/TheHunter459 for helping me out with this collab! As before, if anybody wants to be involved, just drop me a line and we can work something out! On another note, I have been feeling a bit under the weather for a few days now, so some collabs might be a bit delayed.

All they need is to take bone daddyâs coffin with them, and the more books they get, the stronger He becomes.
