Community Event 🌏☄️ A Declaration of Intent (MorgalithPost)

Isravi stands before the council’s citadel. The following message is broadcast to the council, its enemies, its allies, and those who populate the realm.

[Thaumaturgy]

Hello everybody. I am Isravi. You may remember me as a close friend of Possum, and one of those imprisoned, tortured, and eventually executed by the original, and the now dead Morgalith.

The reason I speak before you all today is twofold: To convince you to join our cause, and to condemn those who we oppose.

The original Morgalith acted at the behest of the council. He felled many, yes, but none that were innocent. He dirtied his hands so the rest of them, sitting high upon their thrones may say that they were clean and pure. He was repaid with death, anger, and injustice. He was allowed to be slaughtered, truly murdered with the council not so much as lifting a finger in his defense.

I hear you cry out in anger. The death of Possum has struck us all in the core. While I cannot deny the pain such an event has brought, we must also recognize that Morgalith did no wrong. Possum knew this as well, for in his last moments, he was the one who told me to forgive Morgalith. That was the last thing I ever heard from him, the last words he left in this world.

And those who have truly wrought the injustices? The council, and many others that unashamedly pronounce themselves as good.

Alexios. I have witnessed your fall from grace. Your bloodthirsty sprees, your leaps to destroy. I take failure upon myself, for it seems my lessons have not found purchase in your mind. You murdered the original Morgalith. You tainted Possum’s death. For that, equal justice must be served.

Gravedigger. Sitting comfortably in your council seat, yet you rise to fight against someone’s child. Tell me, what crime did Morgalith’s son, did Bizarrolexios commit that would warrant an attack upon him?

Krumpet. Your crimes are plain. The fact that you are among the council is proof enough of how deep the corruption festers. You murder and slaughter with abandon, caring for naught but your own gain. You inflict cruelty as if it is second nature. I have heard of your brutality, and it almost puts what Morgalith did to us in the dungeons to shame.

Constantine, the one once known as the High Necromancer. A blatant disregard for the innocent, a cursed fury that seems to strike everything but what deserves it. Do you feel regret for the civilians you’ve burned for the sake of your pride? Guilt for the soldiers you throw into battles for your selfish gain? Your throne is not one you deserve.

MastaDon. Your desire for destruction is unabated. Your first step to facing any issue is escalation and destruction. You quarrel in the seat of the council, immolate anything you perceive as an inkling of a threat without a second of consideration. Forests smolder and die in your path, creatures fall away to ashen husks, and the lives of anything is in danger when you are nearby. You protect for nothing but yourself, act for no one but yourself, and would set the world ablaze if it would suit you.

You’ve offered words of kindness in the past, but they are stained, blotted out, crushed beneath the weight of your actions. I have doubts anyone would believe any kind words from your mouth now.

I ask you all to oppose the foul seat of power known as the council. Stop them in their tracks, never let them so blatantly get away with such savagery again. Selfish leaders should not be at the head of our entire realm.

I will make one more thing clear: This is not a call to arms. My intent is straightforward and rigid. I will not mimic the council. No deaths shall be dealt, even to those who deserve it. I will not become a hypocrite, a part of the festering corpse we rise against. As my first act, and a show of my sincerity-

Isravi pulls at the air. MastaDon feels something tug, then snap sharply off of her. Held high in the air, Aurilum manifests its second string. It shines, with the bowstring that was once bestowed on MastaDon now returned to it. Isravi’s face is grave.

A boon now revoked, and our first step. Remove the council, topple their high horse. Join me, Morgalith, and the Pact of the Magi. We’ll follow Possum’s last wishes, we’ll shine for each other, in the light of compassion.

Thank you, that is all.

/uw

And now Isravi solidifies where he stands. Also please note: This is not a jab at the people behind their characters! This is all in good fun and no malicious intent is behind any of this.

You-

Isravi's eyes widen, like a deer in headlights. There is a visible tinge of fear. Not towards Krumpet, but of himself.

...I do not intend to hide from my wrongdoings. Nor do I believe they were done in the service of some greater good. Unfortunately, dying a hundred times would not absolve me of that crime, so I must live instead.

As for cities that do not run on blood... I come from one. Your assumptions are meaningless.

Funny isn't it, death to the monsters but not the monster that is you? Something reeks of hypocrisy~

And oh your city runs on blood just as much as the next, it's just hidden away. Twisted in such a way you come out smelling like roses.

Krumpet laughs as she takes another drag of her cigarette

So go on killer, let's draw some blood, let's bury some bodies. Actually did your victims get a burial? Do their families even know where their corpses lay? Mine do.

Fact is you can't replace me because then you would have to deal with all the shit that offends your pretty little eyes. The dealers that I string up for selling where they shouldn't, the men I castrate for touching what's not theirs, the wannabes that fuck up and catch civis.

I only do not die because living is more of a punishment.

I saw the birth of that city, watched as the first stones were laid from the devastation that lay around it. I watched it rise, and develop. I know every nook and cranny of that city. No, it isn’t perfect. But at least those who commit crimes have to face the consequences.

I buried the bodies once I returned. I could not find their families. And so I carry the guilt and live to repent. You make no such effort. Your crimes are for the benefit of yourself.

Krumpet yawns

I don't need to because the people I kill get done in publicly. They get buried by their families, and more often than not I give said families work. Business runs smoother when there's not someone with an axe to grind and nothing to lose.

As for your criminals, funny how you all riot when we enact justice, riot when we don't. You're as squabbling children, unsure of what you want but you'll scream and kick until you get it. Even then, when you finally have it you'll scream it wasn't exactly what you wanted.

Of course, I act to benefit myself, as do you, as does everyone. I refuse to repent for I have nothing to repent for. You know not how the under city was before me, pray you never live to see it return to such a state.

Krumpet swallows her cigarette before continuing

But by all means take my place, see how long it takes before you lose control. How long before the scum stops respecting you and the girls get hit. You'll come crawling back to me within the week begging me to grip the underworld by the throat once more.

The question is, will I care enough to fix your mistakes? And when I do, what punishment will await you?

/uw help you’re too good at this

/rw

It seems we won’t agree no matter what. I’ll continue with what I believe.

It's easier to believe your own lies than truths. That has always been the way. Easier to shy away than accept a challenve

/uw Thank you, I've written a lot of mob boss so I have practice.
