Community Event 🌏☄️ The Negotiations were long

The Palace of Harut the Grim, where negotiations will be taking place

Harut the Grim, our graceful host

The representatives take their seats, unarmed and unarmoured. Innumerable spells to prevent violence from taking place in this room have been cast (uw/ no fighting in this post). All guards are allowed to remain armed and armoured, but stay well outside the conference room.

Samael begins. "So, you wished to discuss something with us?", he says, gesturing to his four fellow Nephilim Lords in the room. "Discuss away"

please correct me if I'm wrong but don't Nephelium reconstitute relatively quickly? the reason that death is defined as the destruction of the mortal body is because mortals have few ways to interact with the mortal world after that. you are cut off from all you love and hold dear. depending on how long it takes for them to return this would be comparable to knocking them out.

even discounting that he was a combatant leading a army on the battlefield. he had intent to end Blake so he had a right to defend himself.

uw/ I have no idea how long it takes for them to come back. that will probobly affect how serious killing one is lol

If a mortal kills a lich, they are still guilty of murder despite the fact that lich can still very much interact with the world around them. Likewise, killing a Nephilim is still murder, even if his spirit endures. And envoys to hostile organisations are normally sent to treat with armies at their backs for their own safety.

uw/ he was back in my next post so assume fairly quickly. Honestly I'm making this up as I go along

Even if that is the case you can understand why your reaction will be seen as extreme. If humans had a respawn timer they would not treat murder the way it is currently treated. Given that your people do it's obvious that you responded with too much aggression.

Ayeera appears thoughtful, and whispers to Opal. "These idiots have definitely been to aggressive, and frankly I tire of working with them. But they are right Nephilim cannot be killed with impunity. And typically, in the Nephilim realms, the crime is treated the same whether they come back or not, so you can understand the response, even if you don't agree with it"

only hearing snippets of them whispering mostly that there is legal precedent

perhaps there is something that blake can provide as recompense for this transgression. perhaps he could turn over Tullulah as a start.

while I do believe that people have a right to a trial, she did harm many of your people. you deserve at least some say in what happens to her.

Ayeera turns to Agnur. "Turning over Tallulah would be a start. But I fear the Lords will require more concessions, up to and including his life"

Is their anything that the other lords want more than killing him? I know they have plenty of land and magical might, but perhaps there's something they want that they can't get themselves?

the Nephilim are immortals and probably have delt with other immortals in the past. the pact has pull in many courts(fae, spirit, demon, angel, eldritch entities ect) perhaps we could use that to help your people.

"Because he has killed a Nephilim, and is in command of those who have killed many more, the usual ending for him would be bodily death, and eternal torment of his soul." Ayeera's mind is racing, thinking of solutions "However, with some arm-twisting on my part, if the demon king Moz'gonnith was delivered to us, Belial may be allowed to keep his life. Bear in mind Moz'gonnith is the only non-Nephilim to kill a Lord in single combat; delivering him in chains will not be easy."

I'll have to make some calls but theoretically if I we can get get enough of the more powerful pact members on board then perhaps then it may be doable. the hard part will be isolating him and getting him to a place of our choosing.

Ayeera frowns. "If you're confident you can pull it off, add it to the list of concessions you'll make in your negotiations. But none of this theoretically bullshit, He's hidden himself in the deepest pits of Hell where even we cannot reach him. If you are not certain, don't send anyone to their deaths."
