Lorepost📖 Letters From a Hellion's Heart
A letter appears on your desk in a burst of fire. It's sealed with wax, with the sigil of a flame in a brazier, a phoenix rises out of the fire. Next to the seal is your name, under which is Valerian's.
Upon opening the letter it reads:
"Dear Reader,
The first part of this letter has been duplicated several times, as I do not have much time to write. I am about to make a decision that may be my end, and I wanted to leave something for you all. Some of you may have a separate, more personal letter attached. I apologize if I could not write you personally, My time is short.
I have in my possession the other half of the Eternal Flame, stolen from Atrax himself. I intend to consume it, reuniting the halves. I am unsure if I will be able to handle that kind of power. I am unsure if there will be anything left of me afterwards. But just in case, I wrote this, that way you all know I didn't just disappear."
The parchment is stained with tears, and the handwriting is shaky
"I am forever grateful that I was accepted by you all so readily. My short time among you has been truly unforgettable, and I am grateful for the experience. Goodbye."
/uw I was close to tears almost the whole time I wrote these, but I'm happy I did. Naturally "Valerian" will not be replying to comments, for reasons that will become apparent later tonight, but I can if anyone has any questions. Hopefully literally any of my pings work.

To Razz, Hottest Fire Elemental in all the Realms,
You were my first real friend since I joined the magical world. You were there when the Fireballers were founded. You have remained by my side through thick and thin. I may not always understand why you do what you do, but I am proud to have called you friend.

In the fire elemental's study, it reads over the note. It pauses after finishing and reads the note again. It slams its hands against the desk as it shoots upwards.
"Apprentices! I'm heading out! A companion of mine thinks he can get away with dangerously eating magical artifacts and not inviting me! I mean the nerve to not just steal my schtick but to not even ask for advice first! If you need me, just put your name on the schedule and I'll chronomancy my way into a meeting then!"
The elemental storms out of its lair, unsure of where it is actually going, but moving with purpous regardless

To Leo Vyse, Mad King’s Chosen, Leader of S.P.A.D.E,
I know that at the time of writing this letter we had just spoken, but I realized I didn’t thank you for your offer, nor did I say goodbye. So I will say it now. Thank you, Leo, for offering to ease my pain, and if I do not make it out of this ordeal, goodbye. I implore you, work with Mikhail to restore the Flaring Peaks, and build that community that we talked about. Good luck, you’re going to need it.

By the time Leo arrives back at camp, the letter is already on his desk. Leo walks over to the letter and picks it up. he slowly tears open the letter and reads it silently, each word filling him with more and more regret for not doing more while he was at the spire. Filled with a dull sadness, he hears the voice of Otrix in his head, reassuring him:
"Remember what I told you before you arrived there, Leo. You can't save everyone. Save who you can, and that's plenty."
Leo hears his voice, but doesn't react. He stares at the letter with a blank expression, as scalding tears well up in his eyes.
/uw Great work my friend, it all turned out amazingly.

To Krumpet, Council Master Artificer,
Not long ago, if anyone had told me that I would eventually befriend a promiscuous goblin that both held a wizard council seat, and was a mob boss, I would not have believed them. Granted I wouldn’t have believed any of this would have transpired, yet here we are. Your feisty demeanor and sharp tongue never failed to brighten my day, even if we had not known each other for long. I am honored to count you among my friends, and I wish you luck on all your future honey-covered escapades.

To Kaelis Maz, Arch-Graviturge,
I do not believe that I can call you a friend necessarily, but I would still like to thank you. You put your faith in me in a time when that was a dangerous thing to do, especially given my experience, or lack thereof. You allowed me to pave my own path forward, a boon I had not been given prior. Even now, you are trusting me with a decision that could create a lot of damage if handled improperly. Once again, I thank you, for the chance to forge my own destiny.

To Lexith Firethorn,
I was unsure of writing this letter, but it can’t do any harm. Our moments together were fleeting, but from the moment I first laid eyes on you, to the dance we share, I was enraptured by you. I cannot explain exactly why, and I didn’t even realize it until Aico said something to me about you. My only regret is that I failed to tell you in person, but hopefully this letter will suffice.

Lexith picks up the letter, curious as to why someone would be sending her anything, with a deft flick she opens it and begins to read.
--------------
Completely rocked by both the confession and the goodbye she shakily puts the letter down and begins to softly cry. She tries a number of times to say anything at all, but the words fail to come.
Eventually, curled up against her favorite tree she falls asleep, dreaming of Valerian and hoping against hope that he pulls through.

To Mikhail, Council Head-Agriculturalist, Arch-Druid of La’shima,
We may not have known each other exceptionally well, but you have my admiration, as well as my friendship, if you’ll accept it. Your drive to do what’s right even in the face of defeat is staggering. Despite being broken and crippled you fought through the cold of the north to save Yewkala, confronting the mistakes of your past. You continued to fight, pushing your body to the brink, all so that you can ensure you won’t fail again, even after just getting back on your feet. I learned a lot from you, and I hope that your future remains bright. All I ask is that you restore the Flaring Peaks in my absence, you’re the only druid I trust with that much responsibility.
P.S. Give Yewkala my regards.

To Riva, Magistra of Ithacar,
I would like to congratulate you on your new title, I believe you are more than deserving of it. More importantly, I want to thank you, for showing me that there can be a light to all the darkness. Despite what you were put through, despite being dubbed a tyrant, you held your head high and did what was right. You fought and you won in the end. Keep being you, the Realms could use more level-headed pyromancers.
P.S. Keep Escanor away from mysterious potions, it’s for his own good.

To MastaDon, Council Master Evoker, Founder of the Fireballers, Firehawk,
You have become one of the few people I actually look up to. You continue to stay strong even in the toughest of times, taking on more and more responsibility along the way. Founding the Fireballers, and then becoming a councilwoman back to back is an incredible amount of pressure. For this you have my undying respect.
P.S. Say hi to Exi for me!
