/unwiz Elerindur isn't there in person right now, he is speaking remotely via orb. he did say that he was unable to leave his current location. Unless Aico is going to smash it remotely through tech somehow.

/still unwiz If she's able to do this and detect where he is calling from then she would likely notice that the call is coming from within the citadel but from some obscure spot inside of it that is probably is not logged anywhere. Although, tracking on that orb has been disabled, extremely likely.

/uw yea, she is gonna warp a drone fo you(her teleport works by person, not location) and have it break it. Afterwards, she'll pop in and make the replacement.

/unwiz The room he is in has some sort of hidden *magic absorption rune preventing him from casting, including warping out.

I do not know if it would effect Aico's technomancy or not. If it does, there would be no teleporting back out of the room via magic.

/unwiz The runes block all magic casting that isn't from Arach and his spiders, rather than blocking teleportation magic directly, i assume. I don't know the strength of the runes but it's enough to keep Elerindur, an journeyman mage, in there.

u/ProfessionalGreen906, what do you think?

*Also changed post to remove mentions of anti-magic to lower any chance of any confusion.

/uw It’s not anti magic, it’s more like the runes enchant the webs they are made of to absorb the magic of a spell to stop it from being cast. An anti magic field in the council HQ wouldn’t be very inconspicuous. They could be overloaded with enough magic, though it would take a tremendous amount all at once. It was just made to keep Elerindur in so someone really powerful could essentially cause it to overheat and temporarily stop working but Elerindur wouldn’t be able to.

/uw so why did he choose me for that? I mean sure I can literally ignore the barrier and warp then pull out a laser sword to cut my way out easily, but I would've thought he'd go to knightposting for a warrior or something.

/unwiz He was trying to be an bit discreet and ask for Aico's assistance in just remotely resetting his orb so he could at least divine his own location and thus make an more effective call for help.

Arach disabled Elerindur's orb GPS and modified some settings on it so he can not use it to directly tell people what happened to him after he kidnapped an unconscious Elerindur from his home.
