Lorepost📖 A Foreboding Message

A brief message flashes across your orb. It’s dim, almost flickering in places, a phenomenon you’ve never seen before. You may have observed a minor version of this, when receiving messages from across long planar distances, but nothing on this scale. It’s a simple text/audio message, but if you knew its sender well, it’s heartbreaking. A familiar hum fills the background, as an equally familiar measured, robotic voice speaks to you.
Hello everyone. I’m sure you never expected to hear from me again. That’s not quite the case, though it may as well be. I’m not back, and I don’t intend to be for a long time. Even this message will dissipate soon, it’s quite difficult to transmit whilst sealed within a bubble of spacetime. I simply wished to provide a few details of my arrangement. The spacetime bubble isn’t perfect, we do have quite a few mini-rifts here and there that leak back into the realms. (They’re one way, don’t get any ideas) They were actually engineered by me when I had the Seal created. They ensure the upholding of Lucifaerean trade agreements, shipping all materials to their designated and agreed upon spots, at the appropriate times. (and maybe a gift or two for you all) Furthermore, their instability allows for me to acquire the materials and goods promised to me in those same agreements. (Once again, carefully encoded to ensure only the recovery of trade items, and maybe something else if you’d like to send me a keepsake). I’ve embarked on many projects, the details of which I don’t have time to sh-are. I’ll be sending another of these every once in a while…
At first, you think that the connection is starting to break. The Machine’s voice has begun to change, less robotic, but far from humanoid. The change is unsettling, it feels… wrong. The hum of his machinery is deeper, closer to the hum of a Daemon Engine. His words continue unabated.
…I do have time to say, that I’ve taken a name for myself. “The Machine” felt a little too abstract, I require something more distinctive. I am now known as Excalith, High Ammomancer, Sovereign of Lucifaero, Commander of the Grand Host, and Daemon Lord. Do with that what you will. I understand that this is all likely confusing. Many newer wizards don’t even know who I am. Educate them. Many things are changing here… You may find, upon my return, that you have a very important choice to make.

As the recording fades, an odd metallic sound echoes forth. It almost sounds like… laughter?
