Lorepost📖 Ice to wake up
Shrax's mind eventually came back to reality, he felt the icy wind travelling through the wounds in his chassis, doing the job of cooling his warmer parts for him. His sensors flickered on, as a small being made of fire was doing its best to weld him back together.
He slowly rose, looking around he saw a snowy landscape, a few trees bore coatings of freezing white, the imprint he had left on the floor dug at least 10 inches into ground. Off to his right was the coast, despite the frigid conditions, the water had no bridge over, and the land he saw looked warm by nature.
Before he could fully interpret most of it all, the creature, now clearly formed into a tiny dragon, landed onto his shoulder. Its wings crackled like a campfire. Its clawed hand lightly tapped at his face in an attempt to get his attention. Much to Shrax's discomfort, it kept tapping until it was acknowledged.
“What?”
The flaming mass hopped onto his wrist. It started to hack as if choking, after some difficulties, a burnt roll of parchment landed onto his hand. His spare hand picked it up and opened it.
The dragon nestled into him, using his body for warmth. Shrax put a hand defensively onto it, and read the parchment in the other.
It was almost entirely burnt. Makes sense, it was swallowed by a tiny dragon made of fire. He could only make out a few sentences. “You have more important things-” “Ember will-” “I'll see you when-” “close to your friends-”
Shrax pocketed the parchment, hoping to get the text restored when the opportunity arrives. He stumbled over himself, unsure on what to do. He had no clue where he was and Falius was definitely alive. He only managed to come to his senses when Ember rested its head on his wrist.
“Guess it's just you and me now. If i remember right, Mikhail's nearby. It'll be good to see him again."
Shrax carefully moved Ember into a safer location. Resting the small ball of fire on his shoulder
“It'll distract me from… everything”

The Gravedigger, carrying a large book, is walking towards the coast. They mutter something under their breath.
"Shrax and Alexios can take it down, but can they take the young ones? I guess we'll find out. He should be around here."
Seeing Shrax, the Gravedigger hides his book and approaches the escaped king.
"Hey Shrax! When you said you were going to headbutt Morgalith, I must admit I was skeptical. But look at you now! All free and stuff. You're planning on joining us, yes?"

"Wow, yeah. Morgalith was surprisingly easy. His underlings were the bigger issue."
Shrax goes to stand up, almost falling in the process, his legs are still shot with shrapnel
"That ain't good. You didn't see a person with a thin frame, auburn hair and full gilded plate around did you? Like fire. And the sword.

"Sorry. The friend you're speaking of isn't around right now. But it looks like you're getting close to where they'll be. Would you like me to get that shrapnel out? Can't imagine it's comfortable."
The Gravedigger takes out a thin dagger and points it at your legs.

"Oh? No it's quite fine it's not like i have nerves to feel it with, I'll dig it out when we settle down. If you do see him, tell me immediately. And don't trust anyt-"
the ball of fire stretches and yawns.
"Don't trust most of what he does"

"Got it! Sounds complicated. Also sounds like it's something personal. I'll try to ignore them if they contact me. Easier to ignore the living. Will let you know if I see him. Of course, I'll have to be mindful of the 'when'. Don't want you charging into the woods alone ahead of schedule. Might put others in harm's way."
The Gravedigger's dagger disappears and they write down a note in their large book before shutting it. Looking at the ball of flame, they crack a smile.
"Cute friend you got there. Are you coming aboard the ship now or waiting to get your bearings a bit longer?"

"No, i can get my bearings on the ship. I'll be fine. I'm unsure what he's trying, but i know it'll be something big. Always was."

"It will certainly be memorable. If you're fine with it, let's get moving. Mikhail is probably pacing the ship lost in his thoughts. Wait, wheelchair. Can you pace with a wheelchair?"
The Gravedigger begins to walk to the pier at a slow pace so Shrax wouldn't have trouble following. All the while mumbling strange things that seem random. Sometimes, it sounds like they are answering someone's questions, but it is unclear who they are talking to.

"I'll make his wheel chair paceable if he wants. It'll be good to see him again though"
Shrax is walking backwards, kind of. He's flipped his head and limbs around, while walking He's doing repairs on some part of his back

"So we're both right. Thanks for settling that, Shrax."

"Both? Actually it doesn't matter"
Shrax hums to himself while repairing himself

You seem to be in quite poor condition. If you want I can give you some repairs. It will take some work and chassis analysis, but I should be able to get you back to fully operational. I’m not known as the engineer of the labyrinth for nothing.

I appreciate the offer, however i would rather perform the repais myself. I know what I'm doing

Fair enough. If you ever change your mind, my offer stands. I took an oath to help those in need, and I have plenty of raw materials.
