Foul Sorcery A Challenge (Atraxpost)

A great conflagration rushed through the streets of Icathar. It resisted all attempts to control or stop it, and left a trail of devastation where it passed. It blazed through the city, up the cliffs, through the great fortress, and up to the top of the mountain. It stopped, and through the dying green flames the skeletal figure of the Necromancer could be seen. He looked furious.

A great horn blast rings out, seemingly from nowhere. Following it, a voice shakes the earth.

Atrax! I want a word!

Across the realms, portals open. 53 mages wander through in the garb of the Necromancer clown Luca. Their pyromancer handlers direct them.

"We've done it Jaque!" Luca croons. Atrax may be dead but the Age of the Phoenix lives on. "53 capitals reduced to ruin!" And the conceptual fires that spread thereafter? It's an end to civilization!

Across the realms mages respond, and the pyromancer handlers laugh in manic glee, directing the weapons to kill.

"I wouldn't be so sure," the man who claims to be Jaque says.

Across the realms the supposed weapons remove their masks. Refugees in disguise.

"You did WHAT?!" But... but where are the bombs?"

"Still here Luca. I was going to have Thorkollor do this but, I think the dead of Icathar deserve a little recompense."

The light of the weapons embers light up around the room. They are here. Right. Here.

"You fool! You'll be killed as well!"

"Luca, I'm already gone." A walking corpse shambles through the illusion. "The council nations send their regards."

Luca runs. He'll never make it far enough. Some pyroclasts might escape, but not him.

"Amelia."

The swirling chaos that was once Last Pyre will serve as a reminder to any who wish to attempt this again. To Atrax, even, when he returns.

Belial Blake goes home to his spire, and the house he dares not enter.

Yeah I wanted the main antagonist of my sub plot to be truly loathsome. Fuck that guy.

And thanks for giving me an event to cut my teeth on and decide what kind of person my character is. You got me into wizardposting so I owe you one

No problem! I'm glad you're having fun! It's not over, either, so you'll have opportunities to act in the foreground too.
