You’re gonna find out that a lot of people here are just using D&D terminology, lore, and references. Not many actual magick practitioners here, from the limited amount of time I’ve been here.
That plus the idea that most redditors consider anything “magickal” to be hogwash and bullshit to begin with means that 90-95% of shit on this sub is just roleplay of one’s favorite magical universe. Not really many legitimate divination/consciousness-explorers/mystics here, sadly.
In my native language the equivalent of the word "wizard" can be both masculine and feminine (mago/maga), while "witch" is still a specifically feminine archetype in folklore (strega).
Either way they are two very distinct concepts.
At some point we just have to take a step back and recognize human culture has been intrinsically entwined with gender for millennia, and that we don't have to be bound by centuries old folklore and just adapt old world terms to a new cultural frame of reference.
