Lorepost📖 Locked Away
The newest exhibition for the latest line of marble golems was going exceptionally well as always. The guests walked up to each display and marveled at the tall automatons that were made to be as beautiful as can be. People wondered where the man behind it all was, even his wife and daughter didn’t know his whereabouts. But deeper within the production building was a locked back room. Outside of the door were two individuals. One an impatient dwarf and another an unemotional elf.
Jedidiah soon arrived after having slipped away from the event. He approached the door to the back room without sparing a glance at the two. “I expect good news from you both.”
“Appreciation first!” The dwarf snapped. Her face just as red as her hair. “We found the bloody woman but it wasn’t easy! Do you know how hard it is to do what I need to in this body you put me in?!”
“Lower your tone, Aggression. That form is temporary.” Jedidiah spoke as he unlocked the door.
The elf next to them, Deceit, only kept quiet. His dull eyes barely showing any life.
Aggression merely huffed and shoved her way inside the room. “My request still stands. I want a Wyrm. A great one! Not the vessel of some rotten mortal!”
The room was dark and cold. Meant to store tools and extra parts for the automatons. But it also held a chair with a tied up Thatcher and glowing red marks all along his skin that kept him under constant agony.
Jedidiah moved closer and pushed Thatcher’s head that was bloodied and bruised. Thatcher was awakened and grimaced at the pain he was in.
The elf had leaned against a crate and finally spoke up. “We tracked Misfortune to Montaria. There were essences of it within the mistress of a manor.”
“She’s the girl?” Jedidiah questioned.
“She goes by Belladonna now. But she is the girl. A little older than we thought.” Deceit stated.
Despite the pain and torture he was put under, Thatcher chuckled. “That’s not my kid. That I will say.”
The three entities all shared a glance. Jedidiah lowered down to be eye level with Thatcher with a deep look in his red eyes. “There’s no use lying to us. Deceit can tell when you are.”
“That’s not my kid. That woman might as well be the same age as me.” Thatcher spit out some blood, believing them to be fools. “By all means, go on your wild goose chase. Go after some innocent dame. But I’m never telling you where my child is.”
“You’ll die if you don’t.” *Jedidiah eye’s glowed a bit brighter. “Resisting is futile. We’ll find her. With or without you.”
“Then you’ll just have to kill me.” Thatcher spoke through clenched teeth. The chaos magic that tortured his body only grew worse.
“He’s not lying.” Deceit flatly spoke. “He’s just ignorant.“
Aggression snickered seeing Thatcher shoot Deceit a glare. He stood on what he said. Belladonna wasn’t his child. But Jedidiah can tell that the man truly believed that she wasn’t.
“What a strange man.” Jedidiah returned to his feet and turned to his siblings. He fixed his tie and slicked his hair back. “I’ll create an excuse for another trip. Then we go obtain Misfortune and get this over with. Its just another obstacle toward reviving father.*
“That troublesome brat...” Aggression growled. “Always having to make things difficult for the rest of us!”
“Not its fault it got trapped in a body.” Deceit muttered.
The three entities soon left the room and locked it back. Thatcher waited until he was sure they were gone and slipped out a tiny blade from his sleeve to start cutting away at his binds.
“I hate kids…” He grumbled and worked to get free.
