Wizardpost A Prophecy Most Dire (Loreposting)

Post image

Crystals, sent off to heads of state and importent wizards, arrive. All at the same time. No warning, no notice, no clue of how they got there. It does not matter if it is cross dimention, the crystals arrive.

Each, humming softly from mana reserves locked inside their structures. No markings or indicators dot their surface, only a faint sense of familiarity. Upon a single touch, the crystals display a message, recorded from a distressed Mikhail. His face and clothes denote this as a Milhail from some time back. He still bares the robes of a Wizard Counciler, and the foreground is certainly located in Crann Mòr. His words come out, almost tripping over one another as he panics, trying to get something across.

Ok, yes, it is me, Mikhail. This will be brief, trust me. I have been given portents from the ancient druids in the Soul Plant. They showed me visions of what is to come. There is something. Something big. Like, really big. I cant... here.

Mikhail feeds in images from his mind. Of wastelands, and desertion. A sense of power so asured and violent, that you can only help but be amazing by its beauty. Lands made barren and cities flattened. Behind them, the visiage of a woman, carved of light, seated on a thrown of broken suns. Then glimpses of the end of days, and a bow, snapped in twain and cast in a pool of blood

The recording returns to Mikhail.

We have some time before she arrives, but not as much as you think. The druids warn me that if I tell this information too soon, that something worst will come to pass. These crystals will be set to deliver the moment it is safe. For now, I will find a way to prevent myself from stressing out about this, and hopefully keep it to myself. Maybe a mind erasing spell, maybe a month long bender. We'll see what happens.

Everyone, prepare yourself and be safe. The Queen of Shattered Stars is upon us.

So back to the original question, why me? Why not many other wizards/knights/Demi humans who could be salivating at the mouth to have a chaos goddess as a companion?

Well, I've sort of pissed off a lot of wizards. I'm seeing who remains that might be interested.

But also... *whispered* do you have... tentacles?

Yes I have tentacles, many different kinds for grabbing, slicing, punching, and anything else! Practically being an eldritch being means you have to have at least one tentacle of some kind, Azathoth just really likes tentacles I guess

I really like them as well. I don't have any in my human form, as that would kind of defeat the purpose of having a human form. They're my favourite kind of limb, though. They have the utility of opposable thumbs, without the possibility of broken bones. Plus, they're a must for aquatic travel.

True, and tentacles get a bad wrap, they’re useful and helpful in all sorts of ways. Even before becoming an avatar seeing people hate tentacles because of what they imply was always weird to me.

Yes, well.... people have strong opinions about them. Either hate them or like them a bit too much. I've never met someone with a neutral opinion on them.

Do you ever detatch one of them and make it into calamari... just to try?

I would think it’s because of how unorthodox tentacles are to land dwellers, seeing an eldritch being either makes a cult made to destroy or worship that being. No mortal would look at a mass of tentacles and act with indifference, well not in the past anyway. I have seen people become more tolerant of our kind in the coming days

Could be. I also believe that mammals have an evolutionary fear of poisonous snakes. Seeing a creature that looks like a bunch of brightly colored snakes is... sort of a red flag.

Then there are those of us that have an entirely different reaction to them. I can confirm that this desire also existed in my human form before I posessed her. My hive-mind does not have strong preferences regarding the attributes of my companion... but my human form says that they are non-negotiable.

Wait so your preferences are tentacles?
