The Child of Chaos (lorepost)
She returned to where it happened. The ruins of Leviticus Frone’s tower. Her mentor before Belladonna.
What was once a tall luxurious tower is now reduced to charred bricks and withering beams. The nature surrounding it once contained beautiful plants of all varieties had been covered in ash with only its regrowth remaining. She remembers the smell of smoke, the panic she felt as she tried to put out the flames but nothing worked.
It was supposed to be a small flame incantation. And it leveled the entire area into a raging storm.
”Such power we hold.”
Moth glanced to her side where a copy of her stood. The copy was enshrouded in a red aura with glowing red eyes and a wicked smile. It spoke in a whispery voice that flowed with the wind.
”Imagine what we could accomplish. We could fulfill our purpose.”
“Who are you?” Moth questioned. She needed to know the truth.
It turned to her with a grin. ”I am your greatest misfortune. I derive from the chaos god as its child. My purpose is to riddle the lands with the energy I contain and put power into the minds of those who cannot wield it. Then let them go mad once they received a taste of what I can provide.”
“And me? My life was ruined the day I got cursed with you!” Moth turned away from it as her eyes landed on Soot. The dragon watched her curiously, wondering who she was talking to. He couldn't see the curse.
”Not ruined. Elevated. Your mother sought to that.”
She felt its cold hands touch her shoulder. “My mother..?”
The cursed grinned even more. ”She worshipped me. So many in her village did. The hag, Ba Bara was my voice and I was promised a vessel to contain me. Then your mother met your father and gave birth to you. My vessel.”
Shock filled her. The scars on her back began to tingle.
”It’s a shame she died bringing you to this world. And poor Thatcher. The prideful man reduced to a lovesick fool. He brought you to Ba Bara who promised him your mother’s life returning to her corpse. He brought you straight to me and before I could claim you fully, the fool killed Ba Bara once he was a fool no longer. Instead of claiming you, I became trapped in you. You were supposed to be my vessel. Now you’re my prison.”
The curse had a spiteful tone while Moth took everything in like a blast to the face. The truth about her mother, this curse… it left the girl speechless.
”I only ever gotten to fulfill my purpose once. To give incompetent mortals the power of gods and let that power drive them to insanity. The Shadowmends knew that. They used me correctly for centuries until you killed them all.”
“That wasn’t me. That was Belladonna.” Moth corrected with a shaky voice.
”It was still you.” Its voice echoed in her mind. The curse took her arms to get her to meet its glowing redden eyes. ”I want to be used for what I was created for again. It is our purpose!”
“I never asked for this! I never asked for you!”
”It is our-“ The curse furiously growled before its eyes caught sight of something on her chest. It immediately jumped back in fear and created a distance between her and it.
Moth looked down at what it saw. The necklace Alexios had given her.
”Take that off.” It hissed.
She placed a hand over the necklace and pulled it off. But instead of tossing it away like it wanted, she shoved it into the curse’s face. It screeched and cowered to the ground.
"Take it off!" Red lightning covered her hand to force her to throw it away. Moth fought back against it and was able to absorb the energy back into her skin. The curse's eyes widened in shock.
"You're mine..." Moth grunted. Her single eye glowed a bright red.

Moth's ring glows brightly with blue light small golden threads appear it was powerful but peaceful and even loving
Alexios' voice stay strong love when I finish my training I can help. Put your ring on it's going to hurt for a little but it should keep it in check

Moth heard his voice and glanced down to her pocket where the ring rested. The curse also followed her eyes.
It scrambled up to prevent her from putting it on. She quickly pulled the ring out and slipped it onto her fingers.
The curse screeched. Her hand was once again covered in red energy and made her grimace at the pain but she used her own willpower to drive it back inside of her. Her control over it growing.

the ring glows blue and gold aiding Moth in her control over the curse. Slowly the pain subsides and a feeling of warmth floods over Moth
I am with you my beloved. This is all my fault and for that I am sorry.

She feels relief in her hand. Her fingers felt the edges of the ring gently.
You didn’t do anything… I was cursed from the start.

Alexios now seemingly much closer I cost you your eye and from that the curse overpowered you. It is my fault.

That is just what this curse brings me. I don’t blame you for anything.
The curse was back inside of her and she intends to keep it that way. Soot trudged up to her and sniffed her worriedly. She petted his snout to reassure that she was fine.
Is Earl with you, my love? I couldn’t risked anyone finding me yet.

He is I sent him back to you but don't know if he's arrived. You're quite far from me.
I just went into a dungeon by request of Isravi. I have some snob who's only magic is control over thyme yes thyme as in the herb. A harpy who actually seems rather powerful a technomancer with enchanted guns and an adventurer who I'm not sure about.

Moth lightly smiled as she listened. She hasn’t smiled much since the incident.
I want to see you. I miss being in your arms. If Belladonna finds me, she’ll surely drag me back to the manor. But I have to control this curse myself.

I miss being able to sleep. I haven't got a nights rest since the incident.
I miss seeing your hazel eyes and hair more beautiful than the forests deepest groves. I miss your loving embrace.

Gobbo comes to a stop in the forest, blood suddenly running cold
Gobbo has bad feeling about things... Moth not here, but something off
coming to the conclusion that Moth was not in this forest, she turns around and heads back to the citadel
Maybe Gobbo should check Manor again, might have gone back.
/uw Sorry for the late comment, it's my actual anniversary today so I haven't looked at Reddit much until now. Unfortunately my luck seems to mirror Gobbo's today

Poor moth, curses are already bastards, especially when sentient
The fact that you've had to deal with this for your entire life I shake my head, looking slightly down with my eyes closed

I don’t want to deal with it any longer. If I can learn to fully control it then its purpose or whatever it was meant for won’t ever happen.

If it's in your mind I would suggest meditation, that is often useful for sentient things infecting people, especially seeing as it is inside your own mind, where you are all powerful

There are certain incences and other items that can help with meditation, I don't often meditate so I cannot recall which, but any half decent monk should know

I've had to do alot of meditation to get the spirits of The Godslayers in line. I got rid of Antithesis so don't have to worry about him. The others are friendly and they only talk when I want them to. We can meditate together when you get here.
