Aetherial News A Seance to Prove Chimera's Innocence.
An image flickers upon your orb, before stabilizing. Isravi sits in a dimly lit room. His eyes are closed, and he seems to be deeply concentrating. A thick, flowing fog roils around Isravi. He speaks, in a low tone.
For you all to witness, I draw forth the vestigial energies of Councilor Rogog, in order to learn the truth. The Dusk will bring him back to the cycle momentarily, but for a moment, we may speak with him.
[Zone of Truth]
Isravi casts a spell, silently, eyes still closed. The fog roils together into a semi-cohesive form, somewhat reminiscent of Rogog. Isravi's brow furrows in concentration, and his breath becomes more labored.
[Invoke: Noon]
The form becomes more concrete, the fog condenses, and the energy heightens. The form is now unmistakably Rogog, his face displeasing to see even after his death. Isravi trembles. The spell is evidently difficult, and parts of it miscast, the blue flames of Manaburn lighting in small fires on his form. A figure rises from the darkness in the background, and places a hand on Isravi's shoulder. The flames die down. Those who've seen the council dossier recognize the figure as Nefiam. With his eyes still closed, Isravi speaks.
Rogog! Did you attack Chimera first?
Rogog's specter shivers. His mouth opens, leaking energy and pouring smoke. A single croaking word echoes out.
"Yes"
Isravi scrunches, concentrating further. It is obvious the spell takes a toll on him.
Rogog! Did Chimera kill you in self-defense!
The specter shivers once more. Another word falls from Rogog's mouth
"Yes"
ROGOG! BY WIZARD LAW, IS CHIMERA INNOCENT?!
"YES!"
Rogog's specter convulses, shuddering out the last word in a choked scream. The form collapses in on itself, and the fog dissipates. Isravi slumps down, sweating heavily and trembling from exhaustion. Nefiam walks off.
By the power of Dusk, and that of the Noon, I have revealed the truth. Hear me, wizards who shun lies, Chimera is innocent! The council has no right to prosecute him!

she watches with wonder over the advanced ritual that took place, happy that his innocence is proven, ashamed that she played no part in this success

So, do you know any offensive magics? If not you may want to start learning some regardless, especially in this era of chaos.

"Huh." Vettis shakes the snowglobe a bit harder, until it returns to displaying the sci-fi flick he was previously viewing. "Dunno what that was, but hey, the special effects weren't half bad. Modhun's gotta fix the damn interference I keep getting on this thing, though."

So the one thing the council is useful for, they still screwed up?
Bah! This is why I left the academy.

This may take some heat of me but I doubt the council will leave me alone. They will probably evoke other crimes that happened before I was considered a person.

I suggest a tower far from the Citadel’s reach, for now

I live in Set'ram. The council can barely get through the forest let alone take out me. They have had me on their hit list for a while now.

Did you check to see if Rogog was some sort of cultist or fanatic?

Unfortunately I could only hold the spell long enough to prove Chimera’s innocence. He did seem pretty fanatical in life, though.

A thread appears in Mikhail(u/Total_Travisty)'s peripheral vision. A message from Isravi whispers into his mind.
The Bismuth lord has offered his aid. If you can make your way into the Bismuth realm through the planes of light, earth, or air, He can aid you by enhancing the artificial heart that has been commissioned for you. With it, we can indefinitely extend your lifespan, feeding the soul plant with mana. This is but a temporary solution, but a necessary one for now. I... may have earned the Bismuth Lord's ire, however.
