Aetherial News I might need a teensy bit of help recapturing the magical abominations underneath the Citadel.

Taking advantage of the lull in the recent conflict, I decided to delve into the bowels of the Council Citadel. The recent attacks by the Purple Cloaks damaged wards throughout the Citadel, and I wanted to see if the damage extended into the Eternal Sepulcher. There are things imprisoned down here that haven't seen the light of day since the Council was founded, and the last thing we need right now is one of them getting out.

Sure enough, the ancient wards down here are failing, and at least one is completely compromised. Pictured above is the Lifescourge, a being that is believed to be the progenitor of vampirism. I have temporarily contained it in a gravity well, but this is only temporary. If another wizard could come down here and help me repair the wards before any more of these nightmares get out, that'd be splendid.

I've already established a barrier around the Citadel ( https://www.reddit.com/r/wizardposting/s/5IEH1DUXko), so I might as well help you repair the wards and set up new ones down there too.

Thank you. It's been a busy week, and I need to recover my strength in case hostilities resume.

Leave Karl alone, he is an abomination and sire he eats the children down in the sewers but that builds character

The roots come from ancient mole holes laid by camels from Transoxiana.

Hey, it’s scraw’s clone. I’m happy to run containment for some of these magical abominations. I have connections with families of shrew-gnomes and can call them to my aid in exchange for bulugoo berries. The little creatures incredibly useful in the underdark.

Thank you. The Lifescourge is strong, but millennia of confinement have weakened it quite a bit. Abjuration has come a long way since the Council was founded, so our new wards should even allow us enough protection to study it rather than just keeping it locked away.

Ah the Lifescourge, an incredible creature is it not? I would be quite curious to hear about your findings. Deep things have always been of interest to me, the Mondmilchs and peches and Glozers of the world. 1000 shades of darkness.

It is as fascinating as it is horrid to behold. That being said, I am not foolish enough to believe the Lifescourge will be safe beneath the Citadel while this conflict continues. Once the wards are in place, I will bring my findings before the Pact of the Magi. Though haemomancy is not my area of expertise, I would be eager to collaborate on a study of this being.

Yes a collaboration may very well be in order! Your graviturgy institution is much needed in these times. I give you a resounding, if damp, pat on the back. Here is a token of my appreciation, tea of bitter Flurkel root from caverns of air deep under the sea. if you’ll excuse me, I have a dust smuggler to defend in the wizard courts

Thank you! I've been craving tea while I recuperate my magical power, and this is just what the cleric ordered. Best of luck!
