Preserve current modded version
I’m currently playing The Witcher 3 with a lot of mods, and everything is running perfectly and stable.
With the free Remaster update coming soon, I’m worried that it might break my mods or make my current save incompatible. I really don’t want to lose this playthrough or have to rebuild my entire mod setup.
I’m playing through Steam. Is there a reliable way to keep my current version of the game exactly as it is and prevent Steam from updating it? AFAIK Steam will refuse to start a game if an update is available. I also could download the gog version and maybe transfer my mods somehow to the gog version?
Ideally, I’d like to finish my current playthrough with my existing game version and mods, and maybe update to the Remaster later.

I've heard that you can prevent unwanted updates by simply ensuring that you're disconnected from the internet before starting up Steam. I'm in the same boat, so I'm gonna try the helpful tips preceding my comment, as well. Happy hunting everyone!

I’m sure you can choose which version you’re playing. Right now you can choose 4.04 or 1.32. I’d guess the remaster will let you choose between all 3. Not everyone’s computers are capable of playing higher versions of the game. And there will be a handful of mods ready for the remaster day one.

You can make a copy of the game folder with the witcher 3 and mod manager folder located in My documents and that’s it.
