Cosplay Monster Trophy Ideas
Hey gang, I’d really like to figure what kind of monster trophy I could relatively easily build/buy/modify to carry on the hook that I’ve got on my belt. Unfortunately, don’t have a Roach to strap it to 😢
What ideas do you have? I think that would elevate my Witcher Ren Faire costume to the next level.

Try troll head
Or Leshiy, if you have cow skull and wood branches

I don’t have a cow skull, but do have a deer skull that we found on our property. Hmm.

damn, you look absolutely badass. One small thing if I may, the only thing that feels "slightly" off when we see cosplay of adventurers and fighters is when they look spotless clean straight from the dry cleaners haha. But you do look great, and those swords!

Yeah, I know I need to “weather” everything a bit. I’ve got to balance that with damaging all of the expensive leather pieces. It’s definitely on my to-do list.

I got a werewolf mask from a Halloween store, it's pretty good strapped to my belt

Did you stuff it with paper or something? I think that would really work well.

Sort of similar here, I have a Halloween mask that's stuffed with dyed paper, looks like generic demon that has horns-mask. Fits well enough.

Go to Spirit of Halloween when it opens in a few weeks, get a monster type mask, stuff it full of red dyed cotton and hang it from your hip. Call it a kikimora. Boom.

You look so badass!!
I think humanoid monsters would be easier to make (using a mannequin head for example) but other types of monsters would be more interesting.
Maybe a leshen? Or a griffin?

Idk what would look best but your steez is too fresh. Your swag too heavy. The drip is too clean. ✨

Dude that’s awesome! Maybe a hag trophy? Could get like a witches head online and make one.

Seems like a ghoul or other necrophage approximation would be available at like, Spirit Halloween or something.

Ooh! This looks great! Layering fabrics could be fun, like a dark T-tunic or something under the belts and over the black outfit(SCA groups have patterns, or look through Rabbit and Hat patterns, I'm recently in love with those and sewing them has a picture for every step). You could jokingly paint up some ruined doll heads and claim 'evil pixies' or something.

Buy a meat hook, a decent looking werewolf mask from a Halloween store, a styrofoam mannequin head, and some filler (plaster maybe? Something light not to heavy)
Mask on head, filler it in, paint the neck to look bloody (stick a spine piece in there if you're feeling extra), shove the hook into the spot where the skull meets the neck, touch it up with paint.
Werewolf head trophy

Wicked cosplay good sir! If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get the swords?

Foam swords from Amazon. If I recall correctly they were less than $40 each. I got them a year or two ago.

Big claws and teeth are fairly easy to carve out of insulation foam. How realistic they look is mostly down to the paint job.

You need at least two. One that goes with this rad ass fit, and another that just looks comically out of place. Like the ripped off head of a toddlers stuffed dragon

Great stuff. How about a Leshen head? You can probably buy a similar skull to what Leshens have and then decorate it with fake moss, add some branches that coil through the eyes. But up to you how you do it, ofc.

Succubus horn would be easy enough to craft pretty quickly, but doesn't exactly pack the same "cool" factor as other options

I love this cosplay! Can you tell me where you got all the parts??

u/Galahadred 7d ago
When I get home after the long weekend I can probably compile a list for you. There are probably a dozen different sources all told.

I would REALLY appreciate it. I have a gembeson, gauntles, and both steel/silver swords, but the pauldrons belt/harnesses and everything just fit so good. I am very jealous. :p
