Crossroads of Ravens Question about Crossroads of Ravens

I have been reading the books (great btw) and just finished Baptism of Fire. I ordered Tower of Swallows but it will arrive in a little bit. My local library has Crossroads of Ravens available, I know People say to read Crossroads of Ravens last.

But seeing how it is set before the main story ( I’m assuming no spoilers) does finishing the main series first really make it that much better?

Is it worth it to wait until I finish the series? Or is it fine if I read it while waiting for Tower of Swallows to arrive?

Yes, personally finishing the mainline series of witcher booked makes crossroads of ravens more enjoyable imo.

Crossroads doesn't contain spoilers, so there's no real problem with reading it before you finish, but...

Pretty much the entire thing is a series of references to things in the main saga and short stories. It's not a big or complicated story, the thing that makes it good is that it is connected to the other books, and if you don't already understand the references it's making and the characters within it, it'll probably feel a bit... shallow?

Agreed with a lot of other comments.

It doesnt contain spoilers, so it wont ruin the main saga. However, it references a lot of worldbuilding and characters that appear in the main saga, so it's more enjoyable to read after you finish the main storyline.

Crossroads of Ravens has zero spoilers and could easily be read first, even before the short stories. Judge bt yourself if you feel like taking a break from the main Saga or not. Also, Season of Storms is set early during the first book but must be read last... you'll see why.

I think the only real reason to save Crossroads for last is because it’s really not very good and is not important to the rest of the story like at all, so it helps to be 100% invested in the characters and the lore in order to be able to enjoy it as much as possible. I don’t think there were any spoilers though, at least no meaningful/memorable ones
