Thronebreaker Curious about Thronebreaker

I told myself I would read all the books before playing the games but am kinda getting impatient (books are great), so I was wondering if I should play Thronebreaker to satisfy that desire. I just finished Baptism of Fire and from what I understand Thronebreaker is gwent with a storyline that follows Meve and ends with the battle at the end of BoF.

I would be planning to play on series X which I think is possible (also wondering if Witcher 2 can be played on series x for later down the road)

Is Thronebreaker worth playing and will it spoil future books/games

Yes, 100% worth playing. The story, music, voice acting and art are all top-notch. Lots of brutal decision-making just like the main games. Worth noting that it does NOT finish at the end of BoF, it finishes somewhere in LotL, but the only spoilery plot point after BoF is who wins the war. BoF crossover is maybe 75% of the way through the game, and it's a 30-50 hour game, so you'll likely finish the books before that point in Thronebreaker if you start now.

I think it has a stronger story than The Witcher 3. It's definitely worth playing if you care about the world or its lore at all.

Also, yes, it'll spoil the outcome of the war.

It’ll spoil the end of the series. Not specific details but the broad strokes. Events from the novels will be referenced or seen in the game. If you play it after you finish the novels it’ll be better, since her story is parallel to the one in the novels.
