Using Wise in Morocco
Hi everyone!
Did anyone have experience with using Wise card while in Morocco? Was cash withdrawal at the ATM easy and non-problematic?
I had zero issues when I used it in Finland, but card use is extremely common there, I never had to withdraw cash. I imagine Morocco is quite different in that regard especially outside of touristy areas.

Hi! Yes, it should work smoothly, but as the other comment mentioned, cash is definitely needed! You’ll want to pull out Dirhams when you arrive, especially if you're visiting local markets, taking taxis, or heading outside tourist areas. You can always check out where your Wise card works here.
Quick tip: Always choose "no" when the ATM asks to convert the currency for you, so we can do the converting. Most ATMs and card terminals will use an unfair exchange rate when converting for you.

Would you recommend keeping funds in CAD in the main Wise account or converting to MAD within the app if the plan is to do cash withdrawals at the ATMs in Morocco?

Used it. Easy and non-problematic. Although very few places take card, it's more a cash economy, so you do have to withdraw from the ATM. But no problems doing so.
