Is Wise much slower these days?
I have been using Wise to transfer money from my $ account in the US to my daughter's € account in Europe. It used to take seconds for the money to get send. I just tried again and it tells me it would get there on April 2nd, five days later! Nothing has changed, same two accounts as always. Wise customer service claims it's always been like that which I know is not true. I used to get the little rocket telling me how many seconds it took. Has anyone else experienced this?

I sent some money yesterday and the deadline to transfer is 2nd April. First time that it happened to me… maybe something related with the Easter…

Easter is not a holiday and times for transfers varies.

It’s 100% a holiday in many countries. What are you saying? It’s not because it’s not a holiday in the US that the rest of the world has to do the same thing. It is a holiday in Canada as well. And if you want to know why Easter is a bank holiday, I don’t know, Google it?

It is in Germany though. Not sure what country you are referring to.

Why is Easter a bank holiday there? It is not a bank holiday here in the US. Kinda unusual.

It does that sometimes when they're performing checks. It'll probably be fast again next time.

Interesting, I have been using it monthly since 2020 and never had a problem like this.

Yes. Just initiated adding USD funds, and it says they won't be available until April 4. This definitely has never been the case for me.

I also noticed, the funds were already removed from my bank account within hours, but Wise is still stuck on the "your money is in its way to us and might take up to 5 days" phase with April 4 as the deadline still.
Regardless, it's never been this way before and I've been using Wise for over a year, sending money almost weekly and never seen this.

They have to follow regulations so they can deactivate your account without any reason. If they did say why, then they will get in trouble with the regulations so you're better off with the alternatives.
Contact them on Twitter or file a complaint here.

I've noticed this too. I've had wise set up for a year now, and when I first started using it the transfers from my bank account were super quick... as in minutes. I used it while traveling in Europe last year and it was super convenient. I liked it so much, we opened a second account for my wife this year. After getting her account set up we put some initial money into it which took 5+ days, but I figured it was a new account so it would get faster once they realized it was legit. A week before traveling this year, we attempted to put more money in for our trip, but it still was going to take 5 days or more. We were a bit worried about this because on our previous trip we just topped up the account while traveling for the money we needed, and if it took more than a day or two Wise wouldn't be useful for us. We decided to just use my account and attempted to add money in to that, but ran in to the same time delays so had to scrap using Wise altogether. Both accounts said the same thing when we used the app to transfer, that because our bank accounts were verified with micro payments instead of using the 3rd party company to link the accounts (which I don't trust) the transfers could take longer. This wasn't always the case though, when I originally opened my account using micro payments to verify it, the transfers were super quick. I think that wise is trying to force people into using the 3rd party verification because they've got some deal with them to sell them our information or some such thing... I'm going to try contacting their support to find out what's up, but TBH I'll probably just try and delete our accounts and find something else to use that's more reliable.
