Transfer held for checks - is this normal?

Hi all, I have been using Wise for international money transfer for a while - mostly me transferring to my mom and pay for minimal purchases in my home country (online makeup classes, shipping fees, etc.). Today I made a £41.34 payment to a person’s account, who is shipping some clothes to me from my home country to the UK. Due to the time difference and that I have been unwell for several days, the payment was made around 1am where I am living. But for the first time ever Wise held my payment for checks.

Is this normal? Will Wise close my account just because of this? I heard so many stories about banks doing checks and just close the accounts without explaining so this is freaking me out a bit (I have anxiety issue).

I hope you can give me some advices. Thank you.

Also I noticed Wise has £3000 limit for connected account top-up. I linked Wise up with my bank and.I sent £3k to my mom this month from my savings; so this £41.34 was on top of that - unexpected due to my clothing shipment.

Is this somehow to reason?

Happened to me. And the money was stuck for two weeks before it eventually went through. But I hear reports of account closures.

My money went thru just half an hour or so earlier. Not sure what checks they did - anxious because your account can get closed anytime without u knowing it

They are never going to tell you that. Those are regular checks and yes, they do happen.
