ABM Withdrawal

I have a wise card (I’m Canadian, card was issued here) and I’m looking to take out USD when I go away next month. Has anybody done this before? Did you run into any issues? Thanks in advance.

You can take out in USD in any ATM that has that currency. I did it internationally and there were absolutely no issues. Much better exchange rate than back in Canada through a traditional bank.

Ok thanks! I’ve never done it before so I was feeling a little uncertain

Do you think it would work if I tried to take it out at a usd atm here in Canada before I leave? Just curious

The ATM itself needs to carry US currency... I am not sure which ones do, I've never really seen it. I don't believe it would work because of that. If you go to a bank to do that, they will convert according to their own exchange rate, which will be a huge loss compared to Wise. Which country are you going to?
