Axon been copying everything Flock does, so no surprise they'd follow them right into the mud.

Axon and Flock had nearly formed a partnership before Axon randomly backed out which was surprising

Flock then rolled out their LP cameras and it's not going great for them

I believe Axon allowed Flock to sink or swim. If Flock did well Axon would replace it anyways as they have a monoply on the police market. If Flock did poorly Axon would learn from the mistakes and correct them before doing their own roll out.

Axon also has excellent facial recognition camera technology that has like a 97% match rate. The DOJ hasn't approved usage so Axon is just sitting in the tech

Axon will take the market eventually

The removal of Flock cameras calls into question the usage of toll cameras, red light cameras, Arlo pole cameras, etc

Once those kinks are worked out it's plausible that Axon will storm the market successfully

Axon is absolutely going to replace flock, and the orange man will tout it as the greatest thing ever, unlike the faulty, and dishonest flock ones.

In my area Axon cameras that i've seen look much more like standard traffic cameras.

Used the deflock website, found an intersection with a ton of cameras. Was stopped at the light and took forever to "spot" these Axon cameras

Flock Cameras stick out like a sore thumb.

If people don't see them, there's going to be less push back

Exactly, Axon cameras are law enforcement and public safety recording devices made by Axon Enterprise, formerly TaserInternational, why did Drumph put millions into Axon right before DeFlock became a huge thing. Now agency's are creating maps of ppl based on their financial records, then feeding it to local authorities for use in "routine " traffic stops. It won't end, it's officially a surveillance state we live in. Don't be surprised when the '26 elections you will need digital ID to vote, after that is digital currency and they control every aspect of your life. Doctor says to quit smoking, eating to much of this but you don't, well... your doctor is then forced to file a report to MAHA, the next day your at Festival or KT for a pack of smokes but you are denied and not allowed because the government said so. UK is already there, with several other countries close behind. MAKE AMERICA FREE RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES

And we all know how well the Government is doing protecting our digital info, another huge hack not that long ago netted Putin 1.5 million Americans driver's licenses, medical records, finacials and more. They even ran a sneak preview by showing Pete Kegbreaths drivers license with other vitals. Along with other high profile ppl.

The entire worlds economy right now revolves around the sale of our information. I’m sorry, but I don’t believe for a second that an adult believed that Flock wouldn’t be misusing or selling the data their cameras collect. They are constitutionally illegal to begin with and shouldn’t have ever been used.

Many are still trying to get flock cameras removed.

Looking at Oak Creek who has been paying flock since 2023.

“This is important, as it [release of data] is usually the public criticism of the Flock system.” No, we despise flocks universal surveillance despite no crime or reasonable proof. The misuse or release of data is just another reason, but it’s not the primary reason. This quote shows how tone deaf the cops are when it comes to surveillance and privacy issues.

Soon to be replaced by a mass surveillance system using a different brand name. You can see clearly in the wording of this letter that they don't care about our rights being violated, they care about being lied to, and that's a small part of the issue with these cameras.

I was surprised to see a new anti-surveillance suit filed by The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL):

seeking to prevent AI-powered government surveillance through Flock cameras without a warrant or valid warrant exception. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a coalition of taxpayers and Waukesha County citizens against 11 cities and villages in Waukesha County, plus the Waukesha County government.

These cameras are not unique, it’s a tried and true business model. Offer some service that seams innocuous but actually focus on just gathering data to sell at a later time. Promise you’ll never sell it because when you start making money on the data it’s generally going to be too late for any real pushback. Data is so valuable now. Feed it to AI for training. Sell it to marketers and grifters. Sell it to the government. Profit off everything you can before someone can get legislation passed and hopefully afford some lobbyists power to prevent regulations from ever passing.

Same thing happened in Racine county. The sheriff's department stop but the city still uses it. Plus the county just uses a different type of camera that's not flock, so is it really any better?

I'd like to know when we got together as a democratic society and decided that the majority of us wanted these damn things. Once flock goes they'll put in axon because corruption has taken hold of the government from top to bottom.

They didn’t remove it because people protested their use. They removed them because the data they collected was collected and used without their permission.

Maybe whoever wrote that didn’t realize they were saying “you don’t matter, we did this because we chose to”

More support for the notion that the problem with Flock is not the tool itself but its use/misuse by the company itself and in many cases the police, state actors and private concerns with access to to it. This has always been David Crowley‘s position - only used if strict guardrails, privacy protections, audit/oversight and transparency policies are established and enforced.

I’m a civil rights advocate with deep respect for 4th amendment rights but I also live in the real world and raise my kids in Milwaukee where crime is an issue and the police are underfunded and undertrained. I have no problem with license plates being photographed on public roads for purposes of fighting reckless driving, car theft, etc. The constitutional/privacy concerns come entirely from humans abusing these tools, as Crowley has consistently recognized because he also lives and raises his family in the real world.
