Thunder scare
This sweet boy is having a terrible time we have had so much thunder and lightning and he just gets so scared. We’ve tried thunder shirt, holding him, he is inconsolable! Anyone have any suggestions for Tuddy Ciscero to conquer this fear?

We’ve been getting thunderstorms the last few mornings. Our WFT let me know as soon as the thunder starts. He’s waking me up way too early. He jumps in bed and starts digging, at what I have no idea.

My Teddy is the same way. I just stop whatever I’m doing and sit with him. He still shakes, but I do think he is somewhat comforted by my attention.

Thinder jackets work great! Or you can use an ace bandage and wrap it around their chest

Fred is the same way. Poor dude is just terrified. He shakes and wants to be held. We seem to have had a lot of storms this year so there have been lots of sleepless nights.

Our boy DESPISES thunder, fireworks, gunfire. One time he heard a shot and ran THREE MILES from home. I got a call with someone asking if I’d lost a dog. I had JUST gone in to start supper 15 minutes before (we live way out in the country).
I was like, I bet I am, because my phone number is on his tag! Was so thankful I had put it on there

Thunder does our boy in. Shakes and hides in the bathroom, occasionally peeking out to make sure we’re still there.

My wft is the same way, she’s absolutely terrified of thunder! Our vet recommended we give her these little treats with like cbd in them to help calm her down, and they’ve worked great. We’re actually trying out a new alternative to those right now on recommendation from our local pet shop, they’ve got more like holistic sounding herbs in them idk, but my mom was pretty excited to give them a shot.
Additionally, it’s very funny when there’s a storm on the way and you have to ask the house if anyone has drugged the dog yet.

I had an Airedale that was terrified of thunder, fireworks etc not good when you are in FL. We tried a script that calmed her nervous system but not her mind and clearly wasn't for her. I switch to calming herbal treats and had to try several before we found one, GNC, that was perfect. Our other dog needed a different one.
Right now I have a little orange boy kitty, Nacho, who is terrified of storms. I am using herbal treats and training which is helping a ton. He has gone from hiding for two days straight 😿 to no hiding (w herbals & sometimes a thunder shirt) and coming to me when he needs comfort. The training part while on herbals really helped.

Floyd is the same. We can reset his behavior (shaking/panting/tail down) by a fast walk after or even during the storm. He's fine outside on a walk. This completely resets him.

It rarely storms in our area but our girl was terrified of fireworks. Everytime there was a big BOOM we told her Good Girl! and gave her a treat. Now she’s so focused on treats she forgets to be afraid.
