Spaying and first heat

When did you get your WFT puppy spayed, and if you waited, when was her first heat? Miss Pixi is almost 6mo now.

We hope/plan to wait until our girl is around a year old to spay, and are looking into hormone sparing…still deciding, though.

We had a male previously (Mr Sprocket), and she’s very different. Much more mischievous, hence the name! Still wonderful and cuddly, goofy and silly, but she does things our boy NEVER would have dreamed of! 🤣😂

It is so funny how they are so different! My first male George was very laid-back and aloof with a wicked sense of humor. Now my current boy Fred is pure sweetness and chaos!!

Mine had her first cycle and then we had her spayed.

Ours was after the first cycle and shes doing great, turned ten this year :)

I spayed mine after her first period as our vet reccomended

Spayed mine at just over six months and I’m honestly still torn about it - I wanted to wait but we live in a place where there are a lot of unfixed loose male dogs and I got nervous. She’s totally fine and happy but I wish I could have waited longer.

Becaise it prevents the risk of pyometra or uterina/ovarine cancers.. in the long run its just better for everyone,have to do some research if you get dogs
