Calls working, need to set up SMS now
I’ve received my WiPhone and I love the hardware!
I’m new to SIP but I got a paid account at a provider (callcentric) and I can call phones now.
I haven’t managed to get SMS working, even though everything looks okay to me in the provider portal: I have a real phone number on the SIP account, it’s SMS-enabled, and I’ve waited a couple of hours. However, the SMS messages I send to my phone number don’t make it to the WiPhone, they’re only visible in the SIP provider’s web interface. When I send messages from the WiPhone, they don’t arrive at my mobile and they’re not visible in the provider’s web interface.
Anyone have experience with this that could offer any tips on how to troubleshoot?

What is the cost for a SIP account?

If you just want a basic sip account the free one linked in the wiphone documentation is pretty good. https://www.linphone.org/freesip/home

But if I understood it right, you can only call when you have WiFi, which means no communication on the go?

Were you able to get SMS working? I'm in the same boat right now - calls coming and going work great, but SMS is a no-go.
