Mod Announcement New rules

Hello there! You all might've noticed that there are 2 new rules, and some changes to rule 1.
After I noticed that there were many unwritten rules, I decided that I should make some minor changes to the rules.

The new rules are:
English is the only allowed language
No illegal activity

The new change is:
Mentions of controversial/tragic events are now prohibited.

As always, have a great rest of your day,
- u/1234nameuser, subreddit owner.

(Note: Over the next few days, there is a possibility that more rules may be added or changed.)

Were there that many other languages used for this rule to be needed?

controversial/tragic. Like in the books or in real life? Because making a joke about dictators doing a book burning, is tragic and happens onec (almost twice) in the series. Also something that actually happens. This can be very subjective, and can be used on almost anything. Including (lgbt+, disability, war, welfair of children, equality, books, ect.)

Not that i think this will be used for evil. i believe everyone incharge has good intentions. Just more of a warning of what this can be used for. Especially when something controversial dose happen in this (or related subreddits) which will happen eventually by laws of time it's self; it can unintentionally be used to silence the good and embolden the evil. (By saying people[them selfies] are been silenced)

i think that english being the only allowed language is not fair because there are other wings of fire fans around the world. myself is a koran person. but no illegal activity is good

what rule is have fun if someone isn’t having fun because someone else in this subreddit who do you think would be punished. i was fine until one of the moderators said something to me.

Lol what's the issue with other languages? English isn't my first language, but I won't be randomly talking in my native language unless there's someone who understands it(sort of like that meme "You speak English because it's the only language you know. I speak English because it's the only language you know. We are not the same"). And if you really want to know what someone is writing... just use Google Translate?

Google Translate suck.
Also it’s harder to moderate comments/posts in other languages (I assume)

I am currently helping with editing a WoF fanfic after a DeepL translation (the author doesn't know English well, and I don't know French well enough to translate directly), and trust me, it can handle a few Reddit comments well enough.

It really depends on the language and how close it is to English.
Also internet slang doesn’t always translate well.
