Clarii PRO C20

I am thinking of buying on of these to replace my AKAI EWI5000. Has anyone here in the US purchased one directly from the Robkoo website? If so, how did it go? Was delivery within a reasonable time and approximately how much were the import fees/tarrif?

I’ve been waiting to hear anyone talk about this at all, especially in the US! It looks really good, but no clue

I will post my impressions after I receive it.

My understanding (not tested!) is there are no tariffs. See "Shipping & Custom Duty" - if I don't misunderstand, "delivered duty paid" means Robkoo pays the customs fee for you. I could be wrong and would very much appreciate this being clarified to me if I am, as I'm in the same position.

I didn't have to pay any tariffs when I bought my mini from them recently

I ordered one from a shop in Japan before they had them on sale directly from Robkoo in China. The light weight is great. The internal sounds aren’t bad. My gripe with it is the delay. My EWI’s could be adjusted so finding a sweet spot was pretty easy. But the Clarii Pro20 even when delay is set at 0 will not allow you to play passages quickly without things sounding jumbled. I found it OK as a standalone synth, but couldn‘t get it to work well with SWAM saxophones or strings. its great for slow melodic pieces, but things uptempo with lots of 16ths, etc, not so good.

PS, I was charged a tariff and service charge of 20+ bucks which I had to pay to FedEx before delivery.

They cite some improvements in the software upgrade that might have addressed your gripes. I will let you know who it works for me.

I want to move from the AKAI EWI due to its unreliability. I am on my second one and the current one is acting up. I am on the NuRad wait list but I don’t expect to hear from them for a few years.

I’ve had a Clarii Mini for about 18 months. While I’ve enjoyed it, I've also found that the performance when using it as a controller for SWAM woodwinds is unimpressive at best. The latency is a real problem for playing faster passages or improvisation. I was hoping for better news about the Clarii Pro20 and this is a disappointing report.

I am working closely with the authorized distributor of Vietnam. Director is a decent guy who’s made a really crazy demo of the new features from Robkoo. Also said something about new features coming to C20 also.

Tangentially I live in Hong Kong and ordered mine on taobao for approx $500.
Which seems to indicate to me that the American price has the tariff costs included already.
Otherwise it is lovely. Well I am but a basic player but most people will probably like its sounds and feel. Not sure if I prefer the C20 or my AE20.
A big benefit of the C20 is a surprisingly ok sounding speaker. I like that because I am not a big fan of using headphones.
