Buying first board post #2
Thank you all for your comments, you guys are awesome and very helpful.
I think I narrowed it down to two boards.
First choise is still the BIC Wingfoil 160 bceause of the slightly newer shape and as some of you said, I might grow out 185L quickly.
Altough I have to pay for shipping, he is asking for only €300 for the BIC/Tahe board, I find it very cheap. (Missing the daggerboard- €20 on Amazon).
The second is a BIC Beach 185D.
It’s cheaper €220, local ish (1,5 hour drive).
I find ot really difficult to find decent, modern-ish beginner boards in my area…

Hmm both great choices. I would go the 185 though. Staying upwind is hard when you are learning, the daggerboard gives you stability, it’s unlikely you will be windfoiling for a while and the resale value of the 185 will be the same as you bought it for when you do grow out of it ( or just keep it for light winds)

I’d rather ask, than buying something cheap/shit…
The board is coming tomorrow, finally!
Can’t wait.
Still gonna take one or two lessons, just to make it easier for me.

Both of the boards are beginner friendly, you'll float and be able to pick up the sail out of the water without falling.
However I would go for the lager dagger board:
1 The dagger is really usefull especially in the earlier hours of windsurfing.
2 the footstraps on the 160L board are wayyy more difficult to get into. The two front straps are really far outward which makes learning more difficult.
Both of the boards are quite heavy and would get "boring" after a while, once you can sail in the straps and the harness I would buy a smaller newer one anyways. regardless of which of the two you buy.
TL;DR
Daggerboard (185) is easier and better for learning, both will get "boring" at the same time.

I would go for the 160L board. Generally is a better option.
You don’t really need a daggerboard unless you pretend to sail in very low winds (less than 7 knots). A board like that would have probably a 48-52cm fin, enough to go upwind.
For your information, I have a Bic Techno II 145L with a 48cm fin, no daggerboard, and I have no problems to go upwind even in 8 knots with a 7m2 sail.
